Thanks for your support @Zeelmaekers!

Still it's a bit frustrating, not to have known before buying...
If there's anyone else with input on the topic, how to get going without spending even more on a new controller (that I will probably only use for this game)...I'd be happy to know.

    Hi Forum

    Just to let you know, that the problem is solved. 

    Leanings:

    • It takes two can't be played with only one keyboard of the same computer. At least one controller is needed. 
    • Switch pro controllers can in fact be used, they are supported by steam (as well as PS4, 5 and Xbox) - it took for me to find the settings
    • It takes two is a really cool game

    @Wumpelkumpelwell there is one thing u can do .........i know your problem is solved so this is for someone else if they have the same issue.........u can use a app called "PC remote" and stimulate your android device as the controller......thats how i play with my friend....no need to buy another controller....and a quick side tip....search up what "PARSEC APP" is 😉

    Hey Wumpelkumpel,

    hab genau das selbe Problem. mein Pc und Steam erkennen beide switch controller aber das Spiel leider nicht, es erkennt nur einen. Ich hab das Spiel über Origins gekauft aber mit der Steam Bibliothek verbunden. Hast du eventuell nen Tipp wie du dein Problem gelöst hast ?

    You say "Switch pro controllers can in fact be used".   Is what you meant to say Switch Pro Controllers MUST be used"?  It does not respond to my Bluetooth controller at all although other games do.

    @MrDevilX07 Parsec Did not work for me. Parsec does not detect "It Takes Two" as running, so I cannot select it to host.

    i tried to use a keyboard and mouse and a ps4 controller in the same pc and play on steam but it doesnt work would you mind helping me

    I did not know that I have to buy Joystick before buying the game too.
    And finding your comment was so nice!
    I installed PC Remote and it worked instantly!
    I almost can't believe how easily that happened!

    I have two controllers plugged into two different plugs into my laptop. It recognizes player one and the keyboard which is not helpful. I would like it to recognize the second controller as player two. Where in the settings can I add the second controller?
