I think most fans want Sprint races ended but I was reading that the FIA will continue to run with them because it apparently nets them extra money; Teams pay an entrance fee based on points gained in previous season. From what I felt from the public at Interlagos last weekend, the acceptance is alright with the sprints, Toto. And, in fact, it brings some action to the friday. I read that FIA is proposing a different model for next year's sprint weekends.
Friday morning: FP / Friday afternoon: Sprint Qualifying.
Saturday morning: Sprint Race / Saturday afternoon: Full-Race Qualifying.
Sunday afternoon: Full-Race.
I think this suits better but I'd like two little extra tweaks: an extended FP so the teams could better setup the cars and "parc ouvré" after the Sprint Race so the teams also can work more on the cars.
MotoGP went wild with the sprint races this year and ran them in every race weekend. And yes, it worked beautifully to the championship that otherwise would be dominated by Peco Bagnaia and his Ducatti.
