About those tyre temps…
Nobody notice how tyre CORE temp is always higher than the outside temp? Nowadays my tyres are above 102 degrees after couple laps, while my surface temp is 68 degrees or something, and even if I bur...
This kind of system reminds me of the temperature table in F1 2015. The harder you take a corner, the more the tires heat up, increasing wear.
Ever since core temps are a thing, the surface temps have influence on the core temps, which means the higher the surface temps, the higher the core temps can rise, and it's been like this until F1 22.
With the new system, the main factor for the core temps is surface temps and brake temps combined, and this can be best seen in Monaco, where the tires are overheating like crazy despite low tire pressures. But overall, I like the new tire temperature system.
