Add EA friends from other platforms

I play on PS5. How do i add a friend, who plays on another platform? Cross play is ON. Ive tried to add someone on pre game lobby, during and after the race. I cant see the option to add them.

Can it be done via the EA Racenet app?

If i load up Fifa, they have a good menu where you can add, block friends to your EA account. If i block a user on Fifa, does that also apply to F1 games? If a user is blocked, will i be informed during the pre game lobby in F1, that a blocked user is in the lobby?
