AI difficulty Quali vs Race

@veyron_fan1 I've just done Bahrain in Grand Prix mode as George Russell with the recommended set-up. Level 70 as I'm trying to find a good level to do my team on. I out qualified Lewis by 1.4 seconds. But after a 29 lap race was only 17 seconds ahead of him without any major mistakes on track or pit stops. I'd have expected to be at least 30 seconds ahead of him at the end. 1.4 x 29 = 40 seconds. So I agree race pace is faster than their qualifying pace.
AI is too fast in quali and slower in race for me. Always finished higher in race
I think race feel ai is better because they are better at conserving tires or their tired get less ruined
tyre make a huge difference this year and if you have a 100% race I notice when my tires are over 30% I start losing more than ai is losing
so unless I do 4 stops I struggle to keep peace with ai and in my team with novice team my pit stop always sux and get trouble so I lose even more
I can always with worst car get qualification 7-8 place @ difficult 79 in all track I learned to be very consistent in the 16 track I selected I never need to change difficulty
but my result in race race always between 9-12 (9 in the track I know better and 12 in the track I still end up doing some mistake over 60-70 laps small mistake but still enough to lose 1-2 position)
I do agree race is slightly stronger than qualif not by much but mostly I think because tired and the fact that ai is extremely consistent they rarely make mistake I do make mistake in some track over 60-70 laps
Back to the topic in F1 22 (GP mode) I was around +5 in Qualifying, curious to check in the new game
