This is so weird to me. I find, as I did in last year's game, that the AI are super mega OP speed demons in qualy but they turn into sunday afternoon, driving miss daisy drivers in the race.
It's does my head in. And people having the opposite problem confuses me.

@90nitk78q2tuSame for me. But I know I set up my car for race as I do 50%-100% distance so run more stable setups. So my race pace is faster than my qualifying pace
Whereas I believe it’s irrelevant what setup the ai run. They go as fast as the coding tells it to.- Nuvolarix2 years agoSeasoned Ace
In theory, I also work exclusively on race setup (and at most I adjust front wing and geometries) but perhaps it just depends on the characteristics of each one of us 🙂

I am usually beaten in quali because I focus on race setup (and I really suck at quali anyway 😉)
But I noticed that although AI is slower in race, they can still pull quite close to me in race and challenge. I play with AI set to 85-100 and I am having enjoyable races.
Only thing I noticed it that they pull very slowly off the grid, I usually jump one or two of them right on starting grid.
