Controller not connecting

Quite some time back i purchased f1 23 from the epic games store now when i connect my controller to my laptop and launch the game it does not show up and doesn't work.

Due to this i require some assistance on how should I connect it or is it an issue on my end

For clarification i use the PlayStation 4 controller
