Yes the same thing has happened to me. Last week at Brazil I go off the track to avoid a collision of 3 cars at the beginning of Sector 2 and I got a x2 illegal overtake and I was HEATED.
Is it just me or Regular corner cutting was never this lenient in past games? I always thought the solution was somewhere in between Regular and Strict because like Eau Rouge at Spa was broken on strict you couldn't drive over the kerb at the crest of the hill like the drivers do in real life. Some little broken sections here and there but I think I'd prefer the Strict setting taken to the extreme than what we have currently which is just an absolute free for all for lap time. Seems like it only works if you overtake off track
Talk about giving back a position for illegal overtaking: In a situation, in which you only avoid other cars that have collided, I wouldn't even know which cars I would have to let me pass again. The game shouldn't just tell us to give a position back and start a countdown, it should clearly tell us which car to let pass. Hmmm ... was this ever suggested to Codemasters?!?
