Like what the hell happened to the AI. Why are they so pathetically slow? I find myself with the worst team on the grid getting consistent top 5 in quali and race in 110AI. I'd blame on those stupid YouTubers like Alex Gillon who said the AIs are AgGreSsIve LIKE NO IT IS NOT IF YOU LOOK AT YOUR DAMN MIRROR AND HAVE DECENT SPATIAL AWARENESS. Now this makes myTeam so really boring and not rewarding at all. This is why Codemasters shouldn't listen to all complaints. I can * bully the AI so easily to the point where i have to race with collision off for more realism. COLLISION OFF THAT'S HOW PATHETIC THE AIs ARE!The ais race craft are absolutely pathetic, more pathetic than Bottas. They are 80% ahead of me and decide to back off and give me the position back LIKE BRO YOU HAD THE CORNER WHY WOULD U BACK OFF. Im done with the AI. F1 22 AI was literally the right step to begin with and work on from there.

@SweetLord343515 as for the AI performance itself, is not really a problem of them being too slow compared to previous years, but the handling suits a more realistic driving style that the players can intuitively adopt while the AI, and the way they drive, cannot adapt, giving an advantage to the player.As for the race craft, they probably back out too easily, try to always make the same move over and over again, and is really way too easy for a player to overtake and defend. Also they still lose so much time fighting each other.

@dotazured I completely agree with you. The issue I find with the AI is not their aggression level but rather their softness in defense. While in F1 22 we had to be careful because AI would ignore you, in F1 23 they seem to back off and at times even brake if your front wheel is one inch ahead of them.I do see AI attacking me and going for the gap, so I'm assuming that is not the problem but I may be wrong. What I feel AI is not delivering is "intelligent defense" if that makes sense.

@RVladimiro Some moves that the AI tries to pull of are some of those "if gap.." type of moves which makes absolutely no sense for an AI to make. Even trying to put their nose in a gap that already has been closed (see my video clip above).I would say that the aggression and inability to defend properly equally are to blame, but that they aren't mutually exclusive to each other.Sometimes they are just too aggressive for their own good and attempting illogical moves.

@mariohomohThe issue with GT7 is that the AI is just on rails and the AI's car has a total weight of infinity. If you are even the slightest in their way, you will get punted off the track.But I would still argue that it should still be possible to have a fast AI, without having the AI being as aggressive as Senna and go for gaps that doesn't exist.I am not saying to remove the element of risk, but the moves need to be sensible, the AI shouldn't risk everything for one position and then just expect the player to back out.Aggressiveness, race craft, defense and overall pace are all unique skills, and should not be grouped together in statements such as "difficulty is too easy" or "difficulty is too hard".It's all about the balance, and currently the balance isn't there.It's a bit problematic when there's gatekeeping statements like the ones being made in the OT, the AI difficulty and driving model needs to cater a wide range of players, not just the ones playing on 110 AI and nor should it be balanced after the highest difficulty as the driver model does not seem to be possible to scale linearly.Considering that this is not a new issue with the AI difficulty and balance, it seems to be difficult to find that sweet spot where all parameters are just right.I don't mind an aggressive AI per-se, but the moves needs to be calculated and not just high risk dive-bombs into gaps that doesn't exists, neither should they rubber-band.Regarding the AI backing out, in some case the player is actually to blame here, the AI seem to want to avoid damage, and if the player divebombs, or makes a stupid move, it makes sense for them to back out, they can't continue the race if their car is damaged.I would like that same survival instinct to be applied when they are trying to overtake as it is quite obvious that it isn't a thing that is currently being considered.

@SweetLord343515 The AI was definitely aggressive to a fault on F1 22. There were way too many instances of an AI driver coming from behind and having their front side touch the user rear side in a completely unrealistic manner.

Just because they over tuned it does not mean EA shouldn't have listened at all. They should have fixed it correctly, that's what they should have done.

@allemands311I just wished the AI would be fully committed. When they send it, they just don't carry enough speed or at least squeeze me a bit. They just compromise their exit by giving me space or backing off

@allemands311Except most players I've observed didn't leave any space for the Ai and just blame everything on the Ai's aggressions, these players took complete liberty on where they position their car in whatever the situation, simply because in single player mode there wasn't any real consequences.

All CM had to do was just tune it down slightly (back to 2021's level maybe), but instead we ended up getting the other end of the extreme. Honestly, just revert it back to 2020's Ai and it would still be better than their current pathetic state.

To be honest, AI seems to be a little step backward compared to F1 22. Recently, before F1 23 came out i tried F1 2017 and i was pleasantly surprised to race wheel to wheel with AI for half a lap without hiting each other and the AI really giving me a go for my money. In F1 23 AI could be a little more better, trying to maintain position harder and don't back out that fast.

@SweetLord343515 I want to chime in with my 5 cents, I have had a couple of instances where the issue is that the AI seemingly are unable to predict where cars will go which is problematic.
Take the instance in the video below as an example, I (the Konnersport livery) am following the AI car ahead in the tow/slipstream with ERS and DRS enabled. The AI behind me gets an unrealistic speed boost that are more powerful than me fully deploying ERS and DRS, and trying to go into a gap that is closing (even by the AI car ahead of me). Just notice the closing speed itself. Sadly I don't have a replay of it in real time, but the speed delta is still the same regardless of playback speed.
While I can accept partial blame for the incident, the AI should have backed out or tried around the other side and not go full Russell, and secondly, the AI shouldn't have been able to close in like that in the first place.
The AI is way too aggressive at some points, but are also pushovers at others. There seem to be clear and cut states of the AI, and the issue might be to blend those better as neither of the two sides of the coin we currently have is optimal.
I agree with that the AI needs tweaking, but making it more aggressive is not the solution, making them less of a pushover is. These are not mutually exclusive which you seem to think..
It's also not the first time issues with AI balancing is being reported like you claim.
