Elite Racer Trophy/Achievement Bugged

i think if this issue can't be fixed, why not just remove the trophy or push a patch that unlocks it for everyone that logins or something like that.

you can just say do it again, that would be wrong on so many levels

With the next patch and final week of season coming by the end of September I wonder if it would be safe to try a promotion on the last week of season 2 and still earn the trophy. Last week of season 1 didn´t count for any promotions earned by players on that week, if the situation repeats itself more people would find themselves in the same boat as us, just a reminder here that people might have expectations about it.

@eduardohrks To high annoyance, I am going for it again so hope to get it next monday or the penultimate monday, as I'm not holding out any more hope that this gets fixed soon. It still isn't on the investigating issues list. I've warned people on PSNP as well, so hopefully more people are aware about not going for it on season reset day. Really hope my group doesn't make me grind into the early morning of the Monday.

@RaceStragedy you get season rewards in the mail at the end of the season. Although, I am not sure if you need to still be in Elite by the end of the season or to just have reached it once

This truly is a terrible implementation. Ranked is just a terrible downgrade from previous iterations of the series. This trophy just needs to be changed, as clearly, there is something wrong with the way it was actually programmed since it does not work as intended.

so annoyed with this trophy, ea please change it in something achievable without multiplayer.

Or something like perform 100 clean races in ranked

@runningfish007 the entire online system needs to be changed but EA aren't open to feedback. It needs to take notes from GT7. They don't have a perfect penalty system but it's much better than F1. And if you get hit or taken out in GT7 at least your damage heals back and you can continue racing unlike F1. The lobbies are also awful. They are never full and people always leave so you barely get any points.

Well, new patch just dropped. As expected, no fix or mention of this bug. Today I have finally gotten to Elite after doing this horrid process again, because I no longer have any faith that this gets fixed anytime soon. The playerbase has also dropped from 35k to barely over 20k this season, which says it all really. Awful AWFUL experience regardless of this trophy. The online is and always will be a mess until EA start acting upon feedback.

Did you get the trophy?

Yes. For now AFAIK within this group (on playstation) me and @CosmoWolf33  did it but we had to do it all over again. It sucks but with the lack of info on the latest patch about this problem this effectively means "no rest for the wicked" I guess... I just hope people hunting this achievement/trophy are made aware this might be the final weekend to try and go for it, the last week may not count at all, so please beware. Someone should make an official announcement regarding this matter or else we risk having a new group of frustrated gamers again, it´s terrible I would not wish that even for an enemy.

Agree. The penalty system is completely out of whack. Someone rear ends me at the end of the long straight in China, boots me off track and into wall. I DNF and lose points l, he didn't even get a warning for collision. Have also had multiple people turn in on me and I get the warning and not them. Or straight up get rear ended during the opening and I also get the warning for collision. Track limits are a joke, people abuse them to get higher positions, and either I have to follow them to keep up, but end up getting all my points deducted, or stay within limits and fall down the order and get almost no points.

I've bought every single F1 game going back to 16 and completed them all. The lack of foresight about this trophy is terrible. How will it even be executable when the player base drops. Transparency in the points process, group assignments and promotion slots would go a long way to analyze this. In any case, it is doubtful there is a plan for this, but I can state plainly that if this become not reasonably achievable within the first few seasons, this will be the last F1 game I purchase.

@Yintha I 100% agree with you on this. A clean race trophy would be much better than reaching elite. It's already way too easy to get and maintain A rank.

@Yintha @runningfish007 I think 100 clean races online would be a terrible idea. It's hard enough to make it around in one piece. Lap 1 contact that isn't even your fault and you get a warning? Clean race over. 100 clean races would take as long if not longer to achieve than the Elite grind. They should have just stuck with finish 100 online races like last year. The getting to Elite wouldn't even be that bad if the points system was transparent and fair.

Suggestions that EA will never read:

• Lap 1 DNFs should not dock you points
• OR Lap 1 should ALWAYS have collisions off
• Bonus points for a clean race/no track limits warnings, no collision warnings
  • More for less assists as well?
• A clearly defined set amount of points for what you do in a race: quali pos, race pos, overtakes, etc.
• Be a lot more strict on people who rack up penalties: ACTUALLY DROP THEIR SAFETY RATING

and most importantly, just a GT7 style experience. More accurate penalty system, and you know what? Throw in the no terminal damage. If some $@#£ breaks my wing, then let it regenerate instead of it putting me completely out of the race.

I could go on with many more suggestions, just a shame that EA do not care one bit about player experience. Hopefully the rapidly declining player count is a wakeup call.

PS F1 World is the biggest waste of time; only good to get new players welcomed in.

Just let this trophy POP-UP at every Player! If they can't fix it in all the patches, then let it pop-up for everyone!

So once again a terrible experience tonight.

1. Matchmaking is poor, it's near impossible to find a full lobby which is required for good points
2. Alot of intentional rammers / brake testers this has cost close to 100 points only last hour...
3. Double stacking in ranked? The guy in front decided to change his wing. I had to wait for it aswell?!

EA how about you fix this mess?

Japan P9 of 20, most laps clean = 45 points

Baku got punted off in turn 1 lap 1 = DNF -40 points

Time wasted.

So I was promoted from Gold 1 to Gold 3.

If I would grind to elite this week, will I get the trophy?

Any response from EA would be great!

@EA_Groguet @ScarDuck14 so after giving up waiting for incompetent EA to fix the issue, I grinded out Elite promotion a second time and received the Elite Racer trophy. However, I didn't get Season 2 rewards. I received the in game email, open it, tried to claim, got taken to a screen saying I had earned 0 Pit Coin, and then nothing. No in game rewards.

Based on my recent experience, this thread, and previous experience with EA, I know this will come as a big ask but... Can you fix your game? Why do I have no rewards after grinding this out for a second time? Can you give me a refund or compensation for time spent with this mess of a game?

@F123EliteRacer    @EA_Groguet  is currently away at the moment.  Best ask again in a week when he’s back.  Not sure what he can do but he will definitely raise it with Codemasters

Generally speaking now, the trophy/achievement isn't even the problem now. I understand that it's not typically something that takes priority in bug fixes, but the problem is just the shocking lack of communication and willingness to listen to player feedback about the ranked mode and online in general. No wonder the player count is declining. I think it's typical EA though at this point, lackluster games each year that don't add anything new or build upon the problems of the previous year. We don't care about couch customisation. We want to race FORMULA cars, new and classic, and not hate playing online with other people. Take notes from GT7 EA.

Waiting on further update as the season has now refreshed and there were several players, me included. Who were grinding for elite last week. I stopped after i cane across this thread

@ScarDuck14 do you know why the season has been extended by 2 weeks? AFAIK I saw no announcement this would happen, or even a tweet afterwards telling people. Many people stopped playing due to the bug, and now there are 2 more weeks left that's created more problems.
