Why is it that during qualifying, I have to change my ERS via the MFD menu, but during the race, ERS is done simply with the push of a button? Is it possible to have push button deploy in quali? Very inconvenient to change it via the MFD. Am I missing some sort of strategy behind this?

Sometimes a hot lap doesn't go as planned, we find traffic, we miss a turn, hit a curb etc... I turn ERS off, recharge battery, to open a new hot lap with a full battery.
In my league races, I switch my ERS off coming out of the pits. Go to Hotlap before starting your timed lap. and when I cross the line I switch ERS off and drive the cool down lap with my brake pedal at about 10%. this charges your ERS back up pretty quickly and lets you do another HotLap without having to go back to the pits.
