@Ultrasonic_77 Some of us (me) like to play it as close to real life as possible without aids on, without magical floating in the air arrows that tell us where cars are around us, without using a floating vanity mirror to see behind us, without using T-cam view as sitting up there in real life would require very long arms and legs to reach the wheel and pedals... Some of us like to emulate the reality of F1 or at least get as close as possible to that. I'm pretty sure real life drivers use mirrors to see what's going on around them..

I feel the same, and I do as close to this as the game realistically allows me on console.
Note the context of this exchange was me suggesting somebody not happy with the HUD trying cockpit view, to see if the more minimal display on the steering wheel would be less intrusive, as well as encouraging them to try what I feel is the more immersive and enjoyable way to play. I feel this is all actually very much in line with your own views. It's up to them if they try this, and if they do whether they feel it works without look left/right or not but my sole point was it's not impossible to play without this.
