Thanks but that's very discouraging ☹️
I may not have consistent laps or lap times, I always tinker with race line and test where are the limits. But being punished for being consistent, that's just wrong game logic.

@P4st3l1ak Yesterday racing at Jeddah. Qualified 9th. When I came in for my stop. I was in 3rd and after all Ai had pitted I was back in 3rd right behind Max and Charles. After a couple off laps they Max attempted an overtake into the last corner: Both off them lost speed exiting onto home straight. So I saw my chance and double bubble overtake. Couple off laps later I’ve got a 2 second gap. Then it happens. Both off them along with Lewis, Sergio and Carlos who I was 5 seconds infront off. We’re all hitting 220mph. Where they were only reaching 205mph with DRS early on in race. Which was what I was also getting. But all I could get was 195mph using all my ERS: So they are swarming me. I get the hump and decide to ram them. I lose my front wing and get hit hard by Max, Perez and Lewis then hits Max hard. Not so much as a scratch on any off their cars. So closed and deleted game. Absolute joke

yes, I noticed bits of your car are always flying away but AI cars are as sturdy as battle tanks ☹️
Well, I only played about 160 hours but I will not waste more on this game. I am seriously considering not to buy the next one.

    I started this week with F1 23 because it's in Game Pass and I just raced some time trial events to get used to the car and the circuits and so far it's not so bad.
    I'm really impressed by the performance of the game in VR. There are some settings that I had trouble with, so I needed some time to bring up the needed OSM in VR to the virtual screen. Like the message "lap invalidated" because in VR everything is hidden by default - WHY ??
    But after reading this thread I'm not sure if I should start a career just to get cheated from the game and the bugs.
    It seems that EA after buying Codemasters have dropped every intention to produce a high quality racing game. It's the same wit EA WRC it's the worst WRC game in years.
