F1 2023 set up help
A while ago I posted asking if anybody had any advice on how to deal with the awful sliding that comes in F1 23. Career mode is awful for that. I was just wondering if anybody had any good career se...
Hey @ajmcspursfan
This is how much I used to care about setups in this franchise:
I had this Excel file where I would experiment with and keep record of all sorts of parameters while I fine-tuning my setups.
This was back on 2021 I think. Since then I've moved on to ACC and iRacing mostly as F1 has let us down with their neglected career modes.
That said, unless you're running with with extreme or broken setups, you should still be able to drive the car comfortably as long as you've got the basics of handling down right. So unless we can check how you're driving, it is honestly a Sisyphean labour to provide feedback here – both challenging and futile.
And "awful sliding" doesn't say much, really. Sliding on which axle? During which corner phase? On what type of corner? etc. Each and every circumstance would draw attention to a different setup parameter – assuming proper driver inputs.
These days I just use the default, suggested setup for the track and start with that. A few clicks up and down on the aero and springs, a reset of the off-throttle diff and sometimes a bit more of rear toe-in and that's it. The rest is up to me working on my driving.
Thank you for the reply, sorry I didnt give clear information on the problems i am having.
When i talk about awful sliding, i mean in any career mode race I do, i just cant get out of any slow corner without sliding. I dont have this problem in normal GP mode as it was explained to me on here that there is a theory that there are two different handling models and I have to say i fully believe that.
Like the traction issue in last years game, it is impossible to not slide out of corners (as if marbles have built up immedientley). Its just so frustrating.
I apologise for my spelling as well.
Nothing to apologize for, mate 🫶
Regarding driving technique in that scenario:
Regarding setup adjustments in that scenario:
The suspension adjustments (RARB/RS) may impact your handling on other corners so save those for last.
It being career mode, there's also the issue of car upgrades. These modes are severely neglected (yeah, broken record on my part) and you can easily make your car a nightmare to drive if you don't upgrade it evenly across the board.
