F1 23 - PC Version Crashes Consistently
Did not have any issues with F1 22. Game will crash on menu screens, in race, wherever, in 2-20 minutes, without throwing anything into the event log or the usual EGO Dumper. Very hard to troubleshoot. It appears to be happening to others, and worryingly, seems to affect those who have newer/high end hardware the most. Anyone find any solutions? Tinkering with the XMP settings on my board *seemed* to help, but very hard to verify as it always ends in a crash to desktop. Not having this issue with any other games on my PC, including those with a similar release timeframe. Graphics settings do not seem to matter.
Any idea where to even start troubleshooting here?
@SteveJackson So it appears I may have found the issue! I went through various ideas and used the in game benchmark set for 2 laps, wet at Monaco as a standard. I had been unable to pass more than one benchmark before a crash but I noticed the sound was going between 20-40 seconds before the CTD. I tried disabling all sound devices except the Samsung TV and also disabled the only Microphone input I had, since then I have run multiple benchmarks with no issue and just now a run with DLSS on and max graphics settings for 5 laps and it passed no issue.
I have to go out so cannot test further now but I will be enabling the sound devices 1 by 1 and benchmark to find the culprit when I get a chance. I will post back here if I can narrow it down. But for now at least it may help others to know to disable all sound devices except the one you need.
Thank you so much for helping me get through the mud 😂 hopefully no more issues and I'll update with anything extra I can find.
