@Ultrasonic_77 @ We discussed this a month ago whenthis piece came out:
[...] a new car upgrade system that sees players earn parts to change their vehicle’s attributes.
These upgrades, Insider Gaming sources say, can be earned through challenges and by winning races and meeting win conditions.
[...] If you happen to get parts you don’t want to use, you can salvage them for extra money or expertise
This suggests a RNG reward system.
I may be too fast on the trigger though and putting too much weight on their interpretation of whatever scoop they had at the time though. Will be glad to be wrong in this one.

In EA PGA Tour there are Tournaments and other game elements where you know in advance what the rewards for completing them are, and which can include a type of in-game upgrade called 'specs'. These can rapidly become a complete waste of time as the player earns or buys better ones in other ways. It's possible that the 'parts' described above operate via a similar mechanic. You could equally be right that there is a RNG element but as of right now my guess remains that this wont be the case. Even if there is all the new stuff added should still go a long way to help reinvigorate the franchise I hope, and encourage new players to spend time on the game.
