F1 23 Ai vs F1 22 Ai

First of all, I am somewhat delighted that AIs are little bit harder than before. This adds challenge for my last to first myteam 110Ai (no assist, top 1% in TT). But when I delved deeper into this, the overall pace of the AI is the same, it is just that they added more straight line speed + 2019 illegal ferrari engine. Tracks like Abu Dhabi, Brazil and few others they are just broken. With drs, they are of the same straight line speed as mine.

I am partially disappointed in Codemasters and EA for not making the AIs really challenging at all. I would have to skip quali because the Ai race start is completely broken because I can pass them easily and go P1 from P6. They take the most single line possible as if I am playing 20 Ai.

I watched Jarno's F1 22 Myteam Mode and even for Jarno, the 22 Ai actually was challenging him in quali pace and race pace. Now, he would just skip quali and start from the beginning and still somehow stay in the championship battle in season 1 with a not so good car.

I am hoping F1 24 will add challenge from the AIs. Myteam for now is boring with these amateur AIs.

@Apophis-STR Its just not that simple, i for one found the AI in 2020 very easy to bully, same as this year, when you get near them in a corner, best example is China turn 1 they jump out of the way in a most unrealistic way.. Thats due to their spatial awareness and as we know Codemasters is not good at fine tuning things, so something which needs a fine margin like that can easily be too extreme

To me best would be 2022 aggressiveness but with more spatial awareness, closer to this year but also much smoother going out of the way if they feel like its too close, not moving 1m away within 0.2s but more like 0.5m in 0.5-1s time would feel much better. But most importantly them being more flexible on their position on the track making overtaking slow cars on lap 1 much better, but thats the most difficult part as they are trained to a single line..

@Meza994I race the Ai like how I would against people online, leaving them extra space just in case so usually the Ai in 2020 could actually commit to their line without backing off when side-by-side, they definitely are more willing to stay on their throttle compare to 23.

Compare to 22, while I do like how aggressive they are, the way they lock up during a dive bomb and then abruptly force their way back onto the racing line (at turtle speed) was just a bit too immersion-breaking for me. 2020's Ai characteristics in general were just much more natural and linear in comparison.
