@RVladimiro It was a old episode off Top Gear. Clarkson did a lap on gran turismo in a Honda NSX and then tried to match the time in same car iIRL. Most important takeaway from it. Clarkson May not be a racing driver. But he’s got skills and is fast. He’s no joke. However he’s no gamer and used a pad when he did a lap on Gran Turismo. Sims have come a long way since the time he did it. However he still couldn’t come close IRL to the time he set on GT.
However. Back when I had my Audi RS4 b7. 420BHP V8 monster 😍. It came with a gimic. Had a lap time counter. Press button when Starting a run and every lap press button to record lap time. So obviously lots off fun on track days. Although track day rules says your not allowed to record times. As that would make people competitive and risk safety off others. But I still used it… I’m a Bad Boy🙄😇.
Anyhow Brands Hatch Indy circuit. (Short Lap) I consistently lapped 48sec lap. Was it fast? Have no clue. Felt fast and Brands first corner is one off the most terrifying corners on any track anywhere. It’s fast and drops downhill and braking point is right on a rise. Car absolutely hates it and becomes incredibly unsettled and if you don’t get it settled at the exact right time you crash and burn. At the same time your dealing with the weird sensation off what best feels like your brain getting squished up Into the top off your head. Makes your brain feel really cold… I assume to blood leaving your brain for a split second. Doesn’t hurt just a very weird sensation.
Anyhow I’m not sure if it was NFS Shift 1 or 2. But when I got it I saw that not only could you drive Audi RS4 but Brands Hatch Indy circuit was also in game. So remembering Clarksons experiment. I set some laps at Brands. And to my complete surprise. Also Brands Indy is a very short lap. I Was only half second faster in game… So yes games are faster but alot comes down to the fact no matter how real a sim may feel. You can push as hard as you like without feeling g-forces or being in a constant state off self preservation

@ScarDuck14 the only comment I have is that you lapped on Brands Hatch, so I'm torn between envy and hatred and other pleasant feelings.

Plus you can do half day track days so back in the day when I had money and fast cars. If I had a free day I could book up in the morning and rock up in the afternoon for £100.
Kinda weird I’ve done many trackdays around the country. With Audi owners clubs. So you would think as a F1 fan I would have done Silverstone. But nope🤷🏻♂️.
