F1 23 crash

Hello!👋🏼 

please help me understand which of cars is wrong in this situation. One picture is before crash an second is collision. Does redbull didn’t left room and cut off or just Ferrari was too stubborn and just crushed in redbull.

So please comment and tell who’s fault it is.

P.S both cars are driving next to each other from previous corner.

    @OldSchoolHawk If you're promoting me to race director then yes, I most likely would have ruled it as a racing incident.

    If you forced me to put a warning/penalty on someone I would put it on the Ferrari because they were likely in the Red Bulls blind spot and could have avoided the collision by either backing off slightly or using the space available to it on the left.

    I would say that while the red bull is around 75% ahead, the ferrari stays straight and the red bull moves into the line of the ferrari so my opinion is the Red Bull is at fault

    I feel like the pictures tell two different stories. The lines on the first picture imply the Ferrari is going to drift to the right into the line of the red bull which is clearly ahead by enough to be allowed to hold it's line, making the Ferrari potentially in the wrong as nothing had happened yet.

    In the second picture the Red Bull just decides the cut the Ferrari off, presumably because it was carrying more speed and was gaining ground quickly for an easy overtake, which would make the Red Bull in the wrong for driving dangerously to defend its position.

    Obviously both scenarios make some assumptions so there's further room for interpretation.

    @TheRagebeard Yeah. The distance between the first and second image makes it more inclined to me that the red bull was trying to get back onto the racing line but misjudged the clearance it had. I think if this happened in a real GP its be a racing incident

    @Cpayne32 Yes that’s a strong possibility.

    I'd still like to know the pace difference between the two cars. If the Ferrari’s going 15-20kph faster than the Red Bull (ex. The Red Bull had wheel spin out of the last corner) then it’s just a desperate attempt to defend an otherwise lost position.

    @TheRagebeard Well the red bull would of been faster as in the first photo it looks like DRS is active but not in the second

    So… second image is when crash all ready happened. RedBull left room for ferrari so much so ferrari can go straight but there was very little space. Ferrari just didn’t want to turn closer to edge of track. 

    there was little room but still there was room.

    @OldSchoolHawk The ferrari driver had nowhere to go and in theory was right to hold their line as the red bull wasn’t fully ahead at any point

    @Cpayne32 Good eye, I did not catch that the RB had it's DRS open, I agree the Bull mistakenly thought it had cleared the Ferrari and was attempting to return the racing line.

    I also agree that since technically the Red Bull had never fully cleared the Ferrari, they had a right to hold their line, but at the same time getting your front right wing clipped off is a bigger problem than letting off the accelerator for a split second and then angrily shaking your fist at the Red Bull driver. 😃
