F2 drivers useless?

Is it just me, or does anyone else that plays a lot of MyTeam find that because of the massive effect the PACE stat has, that the F2 drivers are basically useless?

Ever since MyTeam came out I've always found the required F2 driver for the 1st season was never able to get results anywhere NEAR where the car should be. Basically meaning I'd be racing other teams around my car in the performance index on my own without any help for the constructors. Or I'd have to up the difficulty so high to drag the F2 driver up to my pace that we'd BOTH be just nowhere.

As soon as I can put an F1 driver in the car I'd suddenly have an actual teammate who could be somewhat useful or a challenge to beat.

I'm not totally sure on how the "activities" actually work for 2nd driver boosts. If I keep choosing activities that boost pace, do they stack and stay on the driver indefinitely or do they wear off at some point? If I knew for sure that boosting his pace bit by bit this season would mean his pace stat started next season much higher I might be inclined to keep him until I can afford to start investing in the sim rig to increase pace further.

  • Last year I always found Drugovich and Ticktum generally finished in positions where the team was in performance rankings

Activities are straight forward boosts to their stat that last only one race, while your facilities' boost are also a direct boost but last forever as long as they remained in your team.

F2 drivers in general had a steeper curve on their growth cycle than F1 drivers, but because their base stats are so low it didn't matter much, at the peak only a small numbers of them actually reached the level of a midfield F1 driver.

@Apophis-STR Ah see I didn't know the drivers stats would go up year on year separately from boosts from facility upgrades or temporary activity boosts. Might have to try holding onto my F2 driver till season 2 and see what happens. Atm it's terrible. I'm there or thereabouts with drivers in similar cars with pace stats under 90. The 90+ drivers are a bit faster than me relative to car performance. My f2 teammate with pace 75 is out in Q1 every weekend, nearly a second slower than me in quali.......
