Flashback disables sim damage

Product: F1 23
Platform:PC
Please specify your platform model. PC
Summarize your bug When I flashback after colliding with another car accidently it removes sim damage for the rest of the race(AI cars don't take damage either). Even restarting the race doesn't fix it. Track map is red when bug is active. I've only had it occur MyTeam. Jeddah and Melbourne.
What is your 16 digit Report Code? Doesn't matter it happens every race if I crash and flashback.
Can you please provide the name of your current internet service provider? Telia
Which area is the bug/glitch in? Single Player
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Crash into someone and then flashback. Mini Map is constantly red.
What happens when the bug occurs? No damage rest of race. Car is indestructible. Even if you restart the race the bug is still there.
What do you expect to see? A fix 🙂

Think I got it covered in the form^

This thread does somewhat beg the question of what the point of using sim damage is if you're just going to use a flashback, and I half wonder if what you're experiencing is deliberate for this reason.

That’s not really relevant though is it? Not everyone uses flashbacks to avoid damage, the fact is that this affects the AI as well. It doesn’t matter what the intention was, the fact is that simulation damage doesn’t work after a flashback which it should still work, it’s a bug that needs to be fixed.

For example i play a lot of full length race weekends in myteam career and when i overtake an ai car and get crashed out after an hour of racing than i sometimes use flashback too to continue the race and at the other hand still using settings to make the game as realistic and hard as it can be .... but i dont want to Repeat the whole last hour of racing than 😉

but when the second half of the race is totally nonsense after the flashback because there is no damage any longer and AI is hitting the walls in Baku like there in go Karts than this For me personally is one of the most annoying bugs the f1 game is having in years!

Another big point with this bug issue is when you crash at the start off a grand prix and restart the race session damage is turned off than too............so i think i drove many races without damage and didnt even notice when going clean through first corners after restart..... only was wondering often that curbs not damaging the ground floor like in last years version and why there where no ai crashes, safety cars and Red flags even when in settings on higher percentage.......

So i think Overall this bug is really an issue they have to look at cause red flags adding but sim damage not working making no sense 😉
  • Yep, does it to me as well.  Codies PLEASE look into this and fix it... makes the game horrible when your going for immersive.  I don't use flashbacks to avoid damage, I use them to correct a turn in or my ADHD causing me to look out my window when I'm entering turn 2 at Austria...  so yea...  PLEASE Fix

  • @alekshd99 Same issue. Still even mid October. Ik some may doubt the point of sim damage if we using flashbacks but the ability for the ai to crash and to flashback any stupid mistakes is nice.

@Speedy3346 The root cause seems to be that damage is disabled for formation lap. Then is ment to be enabled again at start off race once the lights go out. But it stays on reduced even if you have damage set to simulation. However I found a workaround. Once lights go out and race gets underway. Pause race and restart session which takes you to the lights are counting down for race. It enables your correct damage settings. However when it comes to flashbacks. You can do a few. Not sure if it’s an exact amount but do to many and it does disable damage again. Or it may be when doing a flashback late on in race. As that’s when it’s happening to me
