@Darthsausage44 Not officially... But "various minor fixes" could mean a lot of different things that could have a trickledown effect on even more things. I've been playing CM's F1 games for many years and always found that I've had to adjust the difficulty up or down a notch or two several times throughout the year.

All I know is I was brake checked by ai twice in a ranked lobby and then they tried to run me off the track. So either ai programming is this pathetic or the car was saying it was ai when it wasn't.
@FionnlaghM For the most part you can't have AI in ranked lobby, there are a few exceptions if someone gets disconnected it will give them a brief period to re-connect while the AI controls the car. Also, if someone attempts to pause the game the AI will take over the car briefly.
Whenever the AI takes over control of the car its first goal is usually to get the car back on the racing line as quickly as possible which could be the perceived as "running you off the track". Then to prevent players taking advantage of having the AI drive the car the AI usually drives the car at a pace slower than top speed which could be what you consider to be the "Brake Checking".
I'll be the first person to tell you this game has plenty of issues, but having put plenty of hours into career mode the behavior and competitiveness of the AI is not one of them.

Ai hasn’t increased difficulty. It’s more that the Ai has less control of car during periods of races, instead the game takes control and Ai cars will be on rails and will lap set lap times the game sets, so Ai car damage is turned. Also things that affect human player don’t effect Ai cars such as marbles, tyre wear etc.
For the game to do this indicates a serious issue with physics or the Ai that couldn’t be properly post launch. Ai is at its best when game launches: Doesn’t mean it’s good just it’s the best it can be the game. Each Patch that affects game physics will also knocks the Ai balance a little, with so many patches in this game it could have serious May unbalanced the Ai.
Only way to fix Ai is to retrain it. Which isn’t realistic to be able to do with current games Ai as retraining takes at minimum months.
@ScarDuck14 Normally I think very highly of your posts... but were you drunk when you wrote the middle paragraph lol, there's some incoherent sentences there. I kind of get a what you were trying to say but there's some pretty hideous grammar going on there like "Doesn’t mean it’s good just it’s the best it can be the game." Makes me think of some WWII American military recruitment poster with Uncle Sam on it.
- ScarDuck141 year agoLegend@TheRagebeard I suffer from severe insomnia after being awake for a few days and then using my man thumbs typing on a phone screen. So where I shattered I sometimes lose focus and lose my train off thought and as I can’t see everything I typed due to little screen. So sometimes I only make sense in my mind.
Some years the Ai is awesome some years it’s awful. But at the games launch the in game Ai is at its peak performance. When adjustments are made to “fix” Ai in this game of previous years games. They are limited by what they can do, So what we think is an update fixing the Ai. Is most likely a game script and cheats added to make it look like it’s fixed. But the Ai hasn’t been touched. Smoke and mirrors and all that.
Happens all the time in this years career modes. I wasn’t told what was the issue. But was told by accident that ny findings were replicated and it was complex… too complex.
At some point mid way through race. Crash into Ai cars. You’ll find you’ll get smashed into oblivion and the Ai cars don’t even blink. Because game has control anc put cars are on rails. When the Ai is in control of car if you smash into it. It will crash out as you would expect.
Back In day Before race Ai was capable of taking control of a car and race. Racing games cars would just follow the game script. As Ai got better. The Ai would be able to race one car whilst the continued on rails. Then the same game Ai would swap between all game controlled cars. Now we are on the verge of all game cars having its own ai where it Will authentically race humans but eachother. Still some way off but GT7 is slowly increasing sophyAi ingame presence. Apparently last I heard Sophyai had mastered all tracks. Now IT’s learning how to race all cars. But still sophyai has had full weight off Sony and polyphony working on this for years including support from SonyAi and their super computers. Codemasters have a fraction of those resources. So Ai being complex means best solution for any Ai issues post game launch. Is to restrict Ai controls @ScarDuck14 @I’m sorry to hear about your insomnia, I didn’t mean to criticize you. Normally your posts are so well written and that one came out like a blob and I was having trouble making heads from tails at times. Hope your doing better.
