Maybe longer than 10yrs I'd say.
Take into account how much more powerful their simulations are compared to where we are playing a video game.
Moore's Law says computers double in 'power' every 18mths to 2yrs.
10yrs gives us a 1024x multiplier assuming 2yr doubling time.
I think the F1 teams' simulations are probably more than 1024x what we play with in-game.
How much more, I'm not sure as they are likely using some REALLY heavy computing (think Supercomputer level).
A supercomputing GPU farm could fairly easily come in at a 32,000x multiplier?
Having said that; 32,768x is only 15 years away!!
Haha, that sounds very exciting. Playing full f1 sim in my zero gravity spaceship in 2038, lol, who knows 😃
I'm already amazed at how much fun and realistic f1 23 is. Am absolutely loving it.
