Huge perfomance issues on night races

Same here, day races run at ~90 fps when I uncap my Vsyncs 60 fps limit, Night races instantly tank the FPS down to 45 - 50. Even when I run same track in GP mode and set it to day time, it will run just fine, as I switch over to Night, the fps instantly tanks. So there definitely is a underlying issue with how night light gets handled that causes ~50% performance issue, which was not the case with previous titles.

Specs: R5 2600, GTX 1060 - 3GB, 32Gb RAM, DxDiag included.

Playing on medium preset at 1080p, but even when changing to lowest possible settings has 0 effect on the FPS in night races.

I am having the same issue and I also have the same GPU. I have done some ''inspecting'' on what can be the issue, and it certainly can be the fog. Interestingly, during the F1 intros, before the camera gets to the F1 cars, game runs solid 60 fps. But when it gets to the cars and then it drops to 30-25 or less. But that's clearly a LOD thing... right?

Anyone having the same issue on medium - lower end hardware?

The day races are stable 85+ fps for me, as soon as I join or start a nigh race, game drops to 30-40 ish FPS and nothing seems to fix it.

I assume this is not intentional, right?

This is also the same on PS4. Hard to see in this picture but definitely there. Photo of F122 for comparison. Like I am driving through patchy fog.

I'm having the same issues, I won't bother with specs because it seems across the board. I use VR however, obviously in cockpit view, and due to the drop in frames it has as much "shake" in it as real life helmet cam! I only notice the fog during replays but in VR the "fog" looks like reflections.
