In the latest patch 1.08 it says: "Improved AI speed over 100 difficulty"I am starting a second season of a career and i am getting VERY BAD vibes of the AI Straight line speed BS from F1 22:https://answers.ea.com/t5/Technical-Issues-Bug-Reports/AI-gaining-Massive-Speed-on-the-straights/td-p/11597195The gain massive speed on the straight and i can 100% confirm that there hasnt been a single change to setup or the engine is worn, etc.I even lowered the Downforce (Melbourne) and the straight line speed of the AI is INSANE. Was similar in Bahrain/Jeddah.Anyone else finding them to have increased top speed for no real reason?

@PBR3491Would be good to know for that case if Russel had used ERS, if he did then the 305 are totally fine, considering he might have a more slippery car that is possibly a few kph + ERS is 10kph more on many straights too so being 5 slower could be fine, just depends on the exact circumstancesBut definitely give more feedback from your next race, ideally multiple instances so we can analyse the situation better 🙂

Ill check that next race.I was constantly checking if they were using ERS or not and well if they used it i basically had no chance.Teammate (Leclerc) was similarly fast as them (Mercedes, RBR).EDIT: I remember one kph number Russel vs. me, i was leading, had DRS from a backmarker, he was out of DRS and with DRS i only hit like 310kmh while Russel had 305 without DRS and no real slipstream (Melbourne, back straight before the end of sector 2)Seemed kinda weird and got me thinking about F1 22.

The AI seems to use weird burst of ERS in a chaotic fashion if they are not going for an overtake, like on/off in rapid random sucession.

I use the same tactic but only out of corners or when shifting into 8 gear for a bit more momentum, but they just turn it on/off.Did 2 races: Miami, Imola (partly rain) In Miami i was equally fast on the straights, i have no idea whats the difference, again no change to the setup. In fact Charles was slower in the straights 2-3kph.Imola: Rain race and i love Imola, so they stood no chance anyway. But in the first few laps they definitely had an edge again but that is 100% due to my setup.Maybe its just Melbourne or i had a fault that my engineer did not tell me? I have to try melbourne again (next season or start a new season at least)Will come back to you.

@tn132 Would be helpfull to know what setup you are using especially the wing settings because when i just did a test race at Jeddah with equal cars the AI would gain on me on the straights as long as they are in my slipstream as slipstream this year is very strong and gets ever stronger the closer you are. However once they fought themselfes so hard that i got out of the 1-1.5s window in which dirty air works in the game (sadly only this short) they didnt gain anything on me on the straights, didnt need to use overtake at all to keep the gap the same and always observed the gap, besides slight fluctuations because of a bad exit or good exit there wasnt anything!If anything then the problem is the strength of the slipstream which is almost realistic if close by, just too short, however the dirty air/downforce loss is much weaker than IRL probably only 50% and instead of making the car understeery as its always said to be like it makes the cars just lose downforce so that the rear end gets less planted, making it more difficult for players to get the power down however AI is never as bad at traction as the player, they are trained to go to the limit without going over it (90% of the time) so the AI can follow close to the player without getting too many bad exits but has then the advantage of very close slipstream which can easily make them 10 kph faster if they are really close.Regarding a car in front especially at Qatar id need to now your setup as the AI would use something around balanced setup however most players and especially in TT use higher downforce (as its faster on this track) but therefore would be a lot slower on the straight vs medium downforce AI. Also the DRS gets less effective for some reason the more downforce you put on - the opposite of real life

I don't know if it's a uniform issue but I'm having serious issues at Baku, a track I'm normally perfectly fine at. No issues at Jeddah (finished 7th in a McLaren), but at Baku, using the same difficulty, I was nearly 2 whole seconds off last place in qualifying and I'm now currently stuck last losing 1 second per lap from the Alpha Tauri in 19th. All the cars, including that one, have disappeared completely out of sight on lap 7, and when I initially had them in sight, they were shooting away. It was ridiculous. I don't know if it's traction, ERS usage or what.
If I tried to keep up, I would just spin out. Really, really frustrating and not fun at all. Worse still, no way to exit and change my difficulty just to make it playable and fun again. Got to slog myself for nothing or DNF myself. What's the point?

@s00zster I rage crashed out off Baku last time I raced it. Had the same experience as you. Where as on 21 I dominated all. It’s not the car or the Ai so much. I personally think it’s more the track. Ever since last year when it launched with dancing barrier’s something hasn’t been right about it

@ScarDuck14Very hard to say something on this, we dont know his wing angles (at least i didnt see them while shortly rushing through a bit) but end of first lap he can keep up with Bottas and overtake him without any "Overtake" in 8th gear which would hint that its not op top speed, but again i dont know what wings OPmeer was using haha
PS. struggling might have something to do with the front wing damage🤔😂

@ScarDuck14 Sounds like the track grip at Baku needs to be increased. I also just found this thread - https://answers.ea.com/t5/General-Discussion/Traction-or-lack-of-with-controller-in-slow-speed-corners/td-p/12668517 - which is an issue I've also been having generally the past few weeks and Baku seems to get a few mentions in there.

Lack of track grip would cause our issues, including Jarno's locking up, plus AI shooting off ahead as they're not affected. Coupled with a (suspected) stealth tweak to car physics when we were all pretty much begging them not to change a thing at the game's release, would explain it.

I checked my top speeds and the AI's top speeds at Baku, no differences, so it's more a case of traction out of the corner vs AI being unaffected.

@s00zster Yep I’ve been chasing up on that thread lots. But codemasters say they can’t find the problem. But I found it as soon as I put TC on so I have no idea how they can’t find it
