Keyboard stops working after game starts

Hi, my keyboard will randomly stop working after the game starts. I get past the "PRESS ANY BUTTON" screen ok, then when it finishes loading, it goes straight into the annoying "News" section and then the keyboard won't respond i.e. Escape doesn't work to go back to the main menu. When I restart the game, the keyboard usually works at this same point and I can get back to the main menu but then if I go into say a Time Trial, and I'm in the garage sitting in the car, the keyboard will stop responding again. I've played F1 23 over 190 hrs and only just started seeing this issue in the last week or so. And yes, I've made sure the game has focus by clicking on it with my mouse.
