Maximum speed drops during every race
Haven't been on here a while but I want to bring up something that's bothered me for some years, since at least 2020.
Starting a race, my car (this happens with any car) will top out at about 210 to 212 (around 218mph with ERS). But as the race goes on, this will get lower and lower, until towards the end, I'm topping out at 180mph. Will not go any higher than that, even with ERS. The car will feel sluggish accelerating too.
Every race, this will happen, with new parts or old. Tyre temps are set to surface only. In the past I've said with other issues that things seem to have been coded upside-down or back to front. In this instance, because laptimes only get slower, it's like the car's filling up with fuel rather than losing it. Surely this isn't what's happening? Surely...?
Like I said, I've been experiencing this for years but only ranting about it now because it's really sticking out like a sore thumb. Anyone else experienced this?
Edit 1: I've checked out a quick replay of my current race and, without a draft in the final third of the race, I'm currently reaching 195mph max. I'm in a McLaren which is equal top with Red Bull in performance. I check Hamilton in the slower Mercedes, no draft, he's reaching 200mph.
Are my upgrades even applying to my car? Because right now, Lando is battling Leclerc at the front while I've dropped down to 8th with, no lie, the entire rest of the field in a train right behind me.
Edit 2: Finished the race, checked laptimes between me and Lando - on the same tyres and as the race went on, he ended up on average 2 seconds per lap faster than me, which is just insane considering he was battling with Leclerc which would have slowed him down anyway. I was also battleing and getting draft from Alonso, it's all equal there.
Really thinking there's something seriously wrong with F1 23, that it's not applying upgrades to the player car. We've got the fastest engine, best aero, third best chassis. In the first couple of races, I was actually faster than Lando, but since the upgrades, he - and the rest of the field - have shot ahead and my performance has stalled and I've been dropping back every race.
