More cockpit camera angle/horizon adjustment?

I have a sim rig with a 48" OLED as my display and prefer to drive in cockpit camera. Since the display is so large, the horizon is higher than my seated eye level. In iRacing there is an adjustment for the horizon which brings it down. In F1 games it's called "Angle", but it maxes out and doesn't bring the horizon down far enough for my preference.  Is there a camera customization file where I can manually exceed the in game slider for this Angle setting? Thanks!

  • I have exactly the same problem and question,

It's weird than a 2023 game does not have more options than this, when for example older games like assetto corsa have them.

Totally agree. FOV settings and everything around that are so 1990’s, for instance: why does the whole car change WITH the FOV? Lowering it to -20 should only increase my FOV, like it says. Not give me the feeling i slide a seat forward. But I guess it’s kinda hard to split a cockpit from what you’re looking at.

where every other sim/cade only changed what’s on the outside of the car, f1 series still does it including the car. And at -20 fov in cockpit is no way you can negate that with horizontal offset.

it’s just embarassing that a company like EA still doesn’t understand or care about basic things like this. What they do is just pull the whole screen towards you, in stead of what you’re looking at.

this ego engine is so outdated, it’s disgraceful.

f1 series is graphically already lightyears behind other race titles. Look at Gt7, it even has VR!

F1 has 20 cars, 24 tracks (depending on calendar), and looks cartoonish. GT7 or Forza, ACC, all look astonishing on Next Gen, but yet again F1 falls further behind because they won’t build a new engine.

F1 is far far away from feeling, looking and sounding NEXT GEN.

    yes, for sure.

What I failed to find is a XML file or something like that with the camera settings, my guess it that there isn't one (editable, at least)

there’s a funny reference made towards Destiny. It inspired F1 world.

if they looked a but better they could’ve been inspired how FOV is supposed to work, especially in FIRST person mode. That’s conparable to vockpit view. If in Destiny2 the FOV is changed, the whole field gets wider, EXCEPT the hands and gun.they stay the same size, same distance from FIRST person view.

THAT’S how a FOV slider is supposed to work. Not like in F1. In F1 setting FOV to -20, i get claustrofobic.

if you’re being inspired by other games, don’t do halfbaked because you can learn a lot from Bungie. Especially HOW TO LISTEN to your communite. Because Mather again claims to listen to the community, but based on the facts in technical support and people not getting what is advertised, I just can’t understand how and why this fairytale narrrator still works at CM .
