My personal opinion on F1 World

Hi guys,

I don't know how you guys see it, but I would like to give my honest opinion about F1 World in F1 23.

For one, it may look like an expansion to F1 Life at first glance, and some things are still not working properly, like you not getting extra XP despite increasing the Tech level of your rivals by quite a lot (90 in my case), but it's more than that.

I really love the way this mode works. You start on a very low Tech level like you do in My Team Career, but with every race you play, you get resources that you can invest in upgrades for your car, and the more laps you drive, the more resources you earn, and that's really cool, and it makes you want to play longer races to get more resources for your car. The AI are stupidly easy to beat since they're locked on level 35, but by increasing the Tech level, you can make your race harder, but earn bigger rewards.

And not only that, I can honestly see this idea being a thing for the future of My Team. Like, your car would have all these stats, like engine power, ERS efficiency, downforce, drag reduction, and so on. However, just like F1 World, by obtaining better parts, increasing the stats of your car, and by hiring better staff, you will constantly increase your Tech level until you reach the maximum of 1000. Regarding regulation changes, well, there could be changes to the parts, changes to the technical regulations, which affect the staff, or both things, all of which would decrease your Tech level by a lot if you don't do anything about it, and you have to invest resources into the adaption of the parts, and the more you invest, the lower the Tech level drop. About Practice, there should be three different goals to achieve, a Bronze, Silver and Gold objective, with each of them giving different types of knowledge, along with three bonus targets that give data on track, tires, etc.

This not only makes My Team Career a fresh experience, but it's much more realistic, because you can't just rush to the top like in previous My Team Careers, it takes a while before you become a champion team. Of course, you can't forget to get a good teammate that you need to purchase with cash.

I should also mention that regulation changes can also cause teams like say Red Bull, who would have a high Tech level by default, drop down below the starting level, meaning if they say start at 640, a reg change could drop them under this value, causing them to have a harder time on the track. This makes it much more challenging to max out your car, because regulation changes would come in every season, and it would take longer before you reach the maximum level.

Let me know what you guys think about it. I first was very sceptical about this whole thing, but looking forward, it's actually a very neat system that My Team Career needs.

Good day,

Nico

  • And by the way, depending on the starting point you pick, you would start the career on a higher Tech level.

Newcomer would be 100, Midfield Challenger would be 400, and Championship Contender would be 700.

  • @LuckyNico92 Its horrible and very shallow, its purposely built to influence players into spending real money on podium passes etc to get more tech and upgrades quickly.
Appreciate the positivity but wake up man.

    It's garbage.

Why play against a bunch of fake cars on a difficulty far lower than it should be when the real ones are right there..?

    Literal waste of time.

Personally, I´m a big fan of it as well. The AI being too easy is obviously an issue that decreases the motivation to play the mode, but other than that I´ve really enjoyed grinding many races and constantly upgrading your car. I mean the maxed out Tech Level car is just insane to drive, it really feels special. It´s a great system which can still be finetuned and further improved but I enjoy F1 World a lot. If only the goals weren´t locked, there would be another great element to the mode. I also really like the new event types they introduced (F1 Replay, Pro Challenge), these are the modes that really keep people playing this mode. I hope they can improve further because it has great potential and I´ve not spent any money on this mode, so people saying this are just don´t understand how the mode works. I´ve managed to max out my Tech Level 1200 just with the help of the Podium Pass, Event, Challenges and Engineering.

  • Seriously? whoever came up with and whoever approved F1 Life/World, couches, lamps, rugs, pictures and non racecars should,at minimum, be demoted to making runners for mobile phones.

It was inspired by looter shooter games and mechanics.

Has no place in a F1 specific game.

Ridiculously stupid mode.  Random liveries and even Ai had random names and no teammates.  People who buy F1 games are generally F1 fans who want to either rave Ferrari and Red bulls on F1 tracks against other people.

or race season or career against their F1 heroes
