My Team contract negotiation before the last race

Why is the contract negotiation in my team and career mode set before the last race, it's highly unrealistic to have a bunch of drivers changing teams right before the last race. Is this as intended...

@Monzstar83 Yes, that's what I was trying to say. But it was in career mode and not My Team, I wanted to go to Williams and then I was swapped before the last race. I'm presuming it also happens in My Team though. So the topic name was maybe wrong. But I noticed the contract
negotiation happened at the same point in My Team, last season it was right after the last race.

Checked the save now and I'm in Abu Dhabi in Williams having been in Aston Martin the whole season.
