My Team Experts agree

Total dissapointment.They are slowly killing career every year and it was they best mode.So boring F2 "career" with no real progression, they can literally completely remove F2.Same boring predictable weather (remember that insane local weather in older games). I never thought I'd say this, but the good old 2012-2018.RIP F1 career mode and welcome fancy F1 world

@ScarDuck14 felt exactly the same as you - lack of any messaging about MyTeam was ominous.

Have been quite busy, so not been keeping up with news re the new game, although I have pre-ordered it. Log on to YouTube yesterday and see the thumbnail for the Aarava video. Feel a lump in the pit of my stomach. Watch the video and fears are realised - not good.

To some degree I can understand it. They’ve made some changes to F1 World that will surely make their way into MyTeam/ Career eventually like hiring personnel - which is great. I guess most of the “game purchasing” base is made up of casual players that drift in/out of the game and clearly F1 World is aimed at that to keep them engaged so they become regular players. So as I say, I understand it and tolerate it for the moment. Also, like I’ve said before, I will take consistent handling for a start as my expectation bar is pretty low.

Longer term, I will say, if “boosts”, like you get when hiring personnel, such as “20% weight reduction for 60s after purple sector 3”make it in to MyTeam/Career - I’ll probably lose it 👿.  Boosts of hiring personnel in serious game modes like MyTeam/Career should only affect cost, durability, production time and part effectiveness as I outlined in my suggestion post a while back. It’s not possible to magically lose weight for 60s lol. 

The balancing regarding developments and costs etc will be interesting to see and hopefully mean MyTeam/Career doesn’t plateau after 3 seasons.

Am also looking forward to having Il Leone as a teammate 👨‍🦰

We have made a number of changes under the hood to further improve your experience in the popular My Team, Career, and Two-Player Career modes, that give you the opportunity to create your own Formula 1® legacy as one of your favourite real-world teams or as the 11th pair on the grid.  To start, we have updated the ratings and acclaim of all drivers, better reflecting their real-world performances. This goes for those currently competing in Formula 1® and Formula 2™, as well as the racing greats known as the My Team Icons.   Speaking of Icons, 7 drivers will return from previous games, and we have added 8 new faces to the game too.  1992 World Champion Nigel Mansell, Japanese sensation Kamui Kobayashi and the ever-exciting Pastor Maldonado are ready to join your team on their journey to the top. Plus, 3-time W-Series champion Jamie Chadwick joins the roster. For those that pre-order, four drivers from Braking Point past and present: Devon Butler, Aiden Jackson, Casper Akkerman and Callie Maye will also be available. Each of these new Icons are exclusive to the Champions Edition of F1® 23.  Looking at your team and facilities, we’ve made a number of balance changes across the board to provide a more authentic Formula 1® experience. The starting facilities of the current teams have been updated to better reflect their real-world standings. Well I've only purchased the game for my team 😃 so lets see how this goes!

A few questions since I only play my team and career. Is Jacques Villeneuve still available as icon? And can you use icons as your avatar? Is there any updates to the avatars at all or is the same as in f115 still?
