NERFING assists
Please can assists be looked at… Like nuked into oblivion, I understand that assists are their to help all play, but when racing multiplayer should a person on full assists be quicker than a person ...

@RVladimiro Lol, don't worry I'm no spring chicken myself.. I have however given up on the hope of racing irl so invested into what I would suggest is an above average rig and setup.
I'm 100% same, bought my boy a rig last year and he's killing it, massively quicker than me already. That's the age thing I know, plus the lack of family and career to be able to practice daily. I don't expect to compete with that level of dedication.
Come on thou mate, that's a defeatist attitude, I don't believe you, (in a banter joking way only!)
When you miss that apex or go deep, you can't say you don't growl at yourself internally and on the next lap try to improve.
That's why everyone personally races don't they? Instead of just watching? The joy of getting better, nailing something to the best of your own personal ability and earning the endorphin effect.
The point overall though you do say, you don't try to compete with others. Fine, 100% totally fine, you can adjust the AI to suit your pace and continue to enjoy this game. The nerf of the TC and ABS will make zero difference to you as a casual..

@catchygaaaa And Jarno doesn’t care if general population beat him using assists. They are not his competition. If you watch Jarnos videos and obviously you do the only time he takes the game seriously is when he’s racing other e-sport elites.
- @ScarDuck14 I think there's another issue here. Maybe I'm out of line because it's not really something I know or understand well but I feel that there's some elitism from people that don't use assists and they expect to beat every single person that does. What if they are still improving and not as good as they think they are? What if the fact that they are being beaten by people with assists isn't a problem with the assists?
I'm not saying that it isn't, e.g. I think brake locking assist is very likely to give you a couple of cents in slow corners but I can't imagine things like TC being a big issue from what I can observe from the couple of people I follow on YT, namely Jarno who just powers into the distance in traction zones.
So maybe they are not Jarno level and they are being beaten in traction zones by people with TC assist... is that really a problem of TC assist? If that is true then the moment I turn off TC assist I should be by default a lot faster and I'm not. - @ScarDuck14 Yes I could sell my rig, get a real car.
But I'm married with a highly demanding career.
My rig has been bought over many years.
It doesn't need fuel or tyres and starts without issue everytime I turn it over.
I play in race overalls (pyjamas) with my wife bringing me a cuppa mid race on a Tuesday night in corner of my living room. 2/3hrs and I've been to any corner of the world and raced against like minded individuals.
Yes it is a simcade, but what's the harm in that, f1 is my sport I enjoy.
All that has been asked, is the TC and ABS is nerfed a lil to take away the unfairness in multiplayer.
Casuals can continue to enjoy the game with lil noticeable difference, non in offline mode.
Casuals online will continue to be matched with other Casuals online, the same nerf for all.
Other like me who enjoy this game to compete with others will be rewarded for spending more time on the game to better themselves.

Jarno doesn’t care because he’s not an elitist. He plays in open lobbies for fun. Not because he needs to validate how good he is. Half the time he plays in no rules lobbies. Because it doesn’t matter if you win or not,
If winning really matters to you and it obviously does instead of joining in open lobbies racing against kids who don’t even know what or where a apex is, join a league there’s plenty to good leagues to choose from. But then you’ll be up against racers with genuine skills and won’t be able to blame assists when you loseYour missing the points massively, I’m not an elitist either
what I am calling for is fairness… an non assist user, with a great setup will always be out done by an assist user
are you missing the point because you run assists!? Or is it another reason, I’ve not even got a problem with people who use them, with the new game they’re at a point where it’s not balanced & im not saying it’s off line gameplay either it’s online especially
there are multiple levels of grip throughout the game, braking point completely different to TT, GP & online they’re all different. So is Assist vs Non Assist, balance that’s all that was intended by this post
