Piastri and Ocon pace got nerfed?

New driver ratings, new fun.. Well kinda, quite a few of these make sense for once at least looking at pace

Verstappen pace buff obvious, Perez pace nerf too

Ferrari closer on pace is good too

Mercs also matching more how the results look after the car upgrade - just suits Hamilton more it seems

McLaren buff for Norris? Okay i can see that but nerfing Piastris pace? Like what? 16 pace below Norris while being within 3 tenths in quali? What did you smoke?

Slight Alonso nerf seems okay

Alpine nerf to Ocon? Is that only made to fit F1 Manager ratings or what? Ocon and Gasly are pretty equal in that regard depending on the track..

Albon Buff seems good, Sargeant we have to wait but more than 70 doesnt seem right

Hülkenberg buff is too small considering his quali pace.. He is great over one lap

the rest wasnt changed in regards of pace

Piastri and Hülkenberg are massively underrated in terms of pace though..

Hate sounding like a broken record but the majority of these changes won't mean anything in career mode due to stat boosts.

That being said, some of the changes are okay but there are definitely some that make me think "wtf".

Lewis pace buff is fine but it needed more, like 93. The awareness nerf I just cannot understand at all. They've just pulled it out of their backside. If it's because of Austria why did none of the other penalised drivers get awareness nerf and why was Lewis' so big considering out of 300+ races it's a very minor thing. A 1 or 2 nerf at most.

Russell nerf is fine I think but the Alonso nerf doesn't make much sense. The career boosts already make it difficult for Alonso to finish where he should be and now it'll be even more so. Just because the car hasn't developed as fast as McLaren and Merc doesn't mean Alonso has been any slower. It's just a random change for the sake of change.

Sainz is a bit overbuffed I think.. he's not that close to Charles. That being said, Leclerc does get 91 pace fairly quickly so there's that I guess. Perez nerf is good and so to is the buff to Zhou.

Hulkenberg definitely needs a bigger buff than he got here. He should easily be at 84/85 pace with more race craft as well, Magnussen didn't need a nerf I don't think, just needed a bigger buff to Hulk.

Albon and Sargeant buffs are good, nerf to De Vries is irrelevant to be honest if they're putting Ricciardo in later.

Ocon nerf makes no sense to me, he's been better than Gasly when we look at it really and yet has two pace less now? Nonsense. Piastri definitely needs a bigger buff but they've got to be careful with him due to how fast his stats grow. I think starting him at 82 pace would be fine.

I'm just dreading the incoming Mclaren buff which is going to destroy the balance of the game. They already perform well thanks to the stupid stat boosts and they improve rapidly. Norris is already fighting for podiums in my saves and I'm only at Miami... If they buff McLaren, they're going to be overpowered once again, just like last year.

@Liaveal Im absolutely with you on the stat boosts but im usually not playing career mode since 2021 anyway because its boring and broken..

I think Hamilton on 91 is fine or give him 93 and Russel 90-91, its not that big of a gap unless Merc send them out badly.. Im not gonna bother questioning their Awareness decisions, they have always been horrendous
Alonso is kinda ok for me because Aston Martin just didnt improve at all at mid-high downforce tracks but it would have been fine to let him stay as was
Sainz and Leclerc are fairly close this season, it balances out and i think a gap of 1-2 pace is fair although Leclerc should probably be similar to Hamilton like it currently is
Hülkenberg raw qualifying pace is something like 89-90, his racecraft and tyre saving is rather a problem although getting better with every race, its just really bad tyre wear on the Haas making him seem worse
Well they can easily decrease Piastris growth rate so its no problem starting him 84-85 but 82 would still be much better..

Theres a reason why i play GP-Mode hahaha career modes are just too unbalanced

Same here (GP mode only) and I would say, although is nice to have drivers update, they mean very few themselves, they take on meaning in the game only linked to team performance whose update is now starting to miss, especially McLaren needs a big boost.

    Among team mates comparison:

    - Norris-Piastri IRL is much closer than the current driver ratings

    - Hamilton-Russell a couple of points is fine

    - Sainz-Leclerc omg, please CM do not count *unpredictable and casual happenings* to calculate the stats, the monegasque simply needs a trip to Lourdes, even if it's true Sainz is not far as the past year tbh

    - Bottas-Zhou are currently very close IRL

    - Hulkenberg has clearly the upper hand this year IRL, the current difference is too few

Curious to know what Ricciardo's entry score will be 🥳

P.S.: I always struggle to properly read the stats and I'm not sure Qualifying is correctly distinguished from the Race (for example Perez needs it). Besides I think it's time to relate the drivers skill to the track as well (for example Leclerc Baku +++)

@Nuvolarix I think it was said 2022 that a group of "experts" like Crofty etc. make these ratings so Codies dont have a big hand in it if its still the same which is a shame.. Besides that i would generally agree with your ratings but i think Sainz-Leclerc is fine with a 1-2 pace margin..

There is no differentiation between race pace and qualifying pace, its both pace and racecraft is for overtaking but i will test it in the next weeks to be sure again.. Regarding Leclerc and Baku its not thaaat crazy like Sainz would have been ~3 tenths behind Leclerc this year if he had got it right in Q3 and only 20s off in the race is also not that bad but it would definitely be a nice touch to have such specifics, Leclerc-Baku, Norris-Austria, Hamilton-Hungary etc.
