Pro Challenge Frustration?

I give up on this leclerc one. On xbox/controller.

Best lap is a 1:20:340.

i think I have attempted this one over 300 times with all sorts of controller settings and setups. Put about 15-20 laps in every change.

i beat it once by .005 but put a wheel just over and got invalidated. Don’t even care anymore. 

To me on controller all this is is a first chicane simulator. Either you get out of there up or just 4 or 5 tenths down and you just about can beat his time on controller.

So if I included all my restarts because the car rotates in fine after heavy speed reduction but then going slow will not turn left without a struggle. 

At this point it’s just stupid to keep trying. It’s not fun for me to fight the vehicle and the controller just going nope around this track.

If anyone's still struggling and needs a visual lap of beating the time to help I've made a super quick video using the controller on the series X for reference... not sure if it'll be of any help to anyone but if it does then great.

After about half an hour Im at 20.8+ so far going better than the last one...still a ways to go but feels doable.

SteveJackson...hit the pause button while driving to get rivals setup.

After another hour Ive gotten WORSE...21.1+

The 1st turn KILLs me most of the time but my deltas are not coming down on any straight but the Start one...weird!

Not sure it's doable for me now as I dont want to spend ANOTHER 5 HOURS doing this again!

Is EA trying to make people quit playing this game as Im starting to WONDER.

I said straight from the beginning I didnt want to jump through hoops to get stuff and what did you do EXACTLY THE OPPOSITE!

Guess the problem is me. Or the game itself.

Ran a few laps to get used to the settings. Zoomed through the first chicane each time.

This is awesome. Lay down a 1:20:485 easy. Ok got this.

Now it’s been 15 minutes of restarts because once again my car won’t turn left out of the first chicane. I just don’t get it. Every session after a few laps the car becomes garbage.

At this point I would rather pay someone to do this for me.

In my experience, as far as the chicanes go, is that slower is faster. Patience is key. Don't try to be as quick as possible through them, because one touch on the kerb and you're done. On the lap I did that passed, I practically crawled through them and incredibly found myself up on Charles' time by about 0.100. The Lesmos and Parabolica were the most trouble for me. Not really sure how I got through Lesmo 1 and 2, but Parabolica again was about patience, dropping to 5th and being cautious with the throttle. Might have been braking a bit too late but it worked either way.

Also, it absolutely has to be with the Red Bull car (due to Equal Performance being disabled) - try it in the Ferrari and it's like a boat through the chicanes, no mechanical grip, lots of understeer, really frustrating. And 0-0 wings are a must. I'll reinstall later and give my setup. Worked on it myself from a career mode and tweaked it to the feel I was getting through the controller.

I'm not a setup expert, this is just what I instinctively tweaked it to to make the car behave in the way I needed it to.

I just feel this is crazier then the last pro challenge. I barely completed that one which was a proud moment. This can't be said about this pro challenge, annoying doesn't even scratch the surface of what I am thinking about the challenge.

@BadMayh3m I have the same feeling only gaining time on the start finish straight, all straights after that I lose time no matter what. First corner is becoming a frustration aswell, mostly the bad grip on the exit. All that I gained on the straight is right away lost after turn 2.

They make these pro challenges almost impossible to complete for the casual controller player compared to the experienced sim racer with a sim rig setup. I tried 5 setups so far and I don't get closer then a low 1:21. I am done trying after 3 hours. Again in my opinion they should give more people the chance to get those special items. Or put them in the store after the event EA!!!!!!!!!! The demand from the community is there, why don't you listen to the players? It is not that hard!!

@s00zsterNo offense but wow that setup is not for me. Rocketship to chicane up .114 before turning but after that it’s a battleship.

My game is just broken. I was on xbox series x and got so frustrated with the controller unresponsiveness after the last patch I deleted it.

I installed it on my xbox 10 days ago and the steering was perfect but here it is in the last 2 days the steering is terrible again.

I have several official controllers and they all feel terrible with this game.

Forza feels great, f1 22 even feels fine. It’s this latest patch has destroyed the feeling in my controllers.

Best way I can describe it is you get oversteer and understeer and each corner you approach is a coin flip which will occur,

So changing any settings makes no difference because I can’t solve both problems and pretty sure no driver would ever get in a car that did both randomly.

Oh also to put this in perspective.

My 1:20:340 is good enough to put me top 37% in this game.

52k out of 144k entries.

i scrolled up on the leaderboard and 49k is 1:20:265

So charles time is easily being top 25% on the leaderboard if not top 20%. 

i would guess if they said get within a second of his time it still would not be 50% of the users.

The problem is the 2nd gear glitch that they say DOESN'T Exist!

There is no traction coming out of the 1st corner because (PDT) precision drive technology doesn't WORK!

This game is ALOT worse than f1 22!

Get rid of PDT!

One tip I would give is for those that aren't using manual gears, would be to try and learn to do it. While it might be difficult for the first few days it'll be more beneficial in the long run, think most people know how much slower it is on racing games using auto gears purely because the game puts you in the wrong gears, so that alone should sort people who are struggling with traction out of the corners because chances are the game has you in the wrong gear in auto

@BadMayh3mwow ok, I did notice in one of my replays when I broke way too early and had to accelerate through there and my gear went to 3 I was able to zoom out of the left hand bit.

The problem of course is to get back into 3rd in that tight area means you have to mess up the first braking point which loses time.

If you brake at the correct spot and just gear up to 3rd through the chicane the engine goes bluh bluh bluh bluh and the torque and revs finally sync with grip and you move along. This also loses time.

@worldrevolver69I'm using a rather beaten up old Dualshock 3 pad with steering rate turned up to 160% in the game's options, setup might work better if you do that. I thought it would make the car undriveable, but it actually makes the car feel like it did in F1 2020.

Edit: Also, I passed Charles' time and ended up in the top 29%, so I'm guessing his time rates as top 30%.

I cant get no traction coming out of corners that's why there is no speed down the straights even with 0/0 wings!
