racing line is not supposed to be accurate. In any game its just a vague suggestion and thats how its supposed to be. you are supposed to find the right or best line yourself. Although with the tire marbles in this game unfortunately thats not possible anymore. as the game thinks the racing line is somwehre else than it actually is. bit of a joke. Like Spain T3. AI and ingame racing line shows wide line, but in fact the fastest line is a tight line thru T3. thats the racing line. but somehow the marbles are right there because the game is so poorly programmed.
@WollcottNot exactly. It depends if it's a general racing line aid or a dynamic racing line. F1 features the latter, and it is indeed supposed to account for your current speed.
Most other games have just a standard racing line assist. It indicates throttle and brake states as well, but only for the reference lap.
As others have said though, even F1's dynamic racing line assumes you've got everything else correctly. Braking settings and technique on point, and obviously assumes you're following the suggested line.
Apart from that, no disagreement here. No one is going to set any world records following the assist. It's a nice line, but one intended for players of all skill levels to be able to follow.
