@Meza994 @Cpayne32 @ScarDuck14 this I can see happening.

Although Max/ Red Bull have got the season pretty much wrapped up and know all they need to do to secure it is not “wipe out” in races from now on, it does feel like Max and Red Bull have an axe to grind with Lewis and Mercedes respectively, and vice versa. Will they keep it clean with their most notorious adversaries? it will be interesting to see how this race unfolds for sure.

One thing is certain - it would be a great thing for another driver/ team to win a race on merit, and not just because Max/ Red Bull retired.

    Interesting comments from Hamilton; he's insinuating that Red Bull have had to stop doing something with their DRS recently, nudging that the media should look into 🤔 I may be wrong but even still the DRS shouldn't have that influence on this track layout?

    Anyway, good to see another team instead of Red Bull on pole. Not sure if the race result will change but should be a good battle. Considering that Max has been poor from starts on occasions this season, it should provide a tasty first corner scrap. For all the good the Hamilton result was, Mercedes like playing with fire with qualifying and sending their cars out. Poor Russell, team decision was poor as the car was fast enough to get into the later sessions

    @TotosHeadphones Always felt Mercedes never react fast enough when a change in strategy is needed on the fly. Which does help limit the likelihood of Ferraring. But up against Red Bull who seem to always time any change perfectly. It’s something I felt massively contributed to Max winning his first championship. I don’t mean the last lap nonsense but across the season

    @TotosHeadphones Well Hamilton and Merc have always talked rubbish about Red Bull since 2021 and i wouldnt take his stuff serious especially on a special track like this.. In Spain with fairly high downforce but a longer DRS zone RB was only 5 kph faster than the slowest Merc and in Hungary it was 2.5 kph but all that almost 30kph slower/less time for DRS to affect things.. There are so many things influencing such a delicate airflow to stall the diffuser and beam wing its highly doubtful that - especially with an aero upgrade - it just works no matter what wing angle and Red Bull just tend to have a lower top speed in comparison to the rest on high downforce tracks, it was that way last year, its that way this year..

    Could there be something to it though? Maybe, who knows but i just wouldnt trust a word Hamilton says about the performance of cars (or tyres😂)

    Besides that yeah horrible take on Russel, especially in Q1 when they were most vulnerable on the cold hard tyres that was just bad placement

    @Meza994As much as Hamilton is the master of spin, this is quite the accusation. Additionally, with all the teams coming with upgrades and new floors and philosophies, there doesn't seem to be another team that has imitated the Red Bull DRS.

    Admittedly, I can just about get my head around how the system works but all the other teams would likely know how to copy it and get it working on their respective cars? It must have been discussed internally by all teams, and what worth would it be to throw shade on RB unless they had some evidence? I just find it interesting. RB haven't been as dominant in the last few races. It could even be the new tyre construction but there were reports of the new sidepods bringing two tenths of time this weekend?

    As you said @Meza994 there are plenty of variables, it's fun to speculate (maybe I'm hoping there is truth to it so we can get some proper fights at the front).

    Every thread needs a good meme;

    @TotosHeadphones Accidentally closed the tab in which i was an unnecessary long explanation on - its just very difficult copying the entire airflow of a car front wing to rear wing to imitate a DRS advantage which could only be around 5 kph depending on what you take into consideration..

    Regarding the performance of Red Bull in the past races its not as great as you hope and some of it might also just be the development limitations.. But here a sad reminder:

    Spain gap 24s
    Canada gap 9.5s but last year Red Bull wasnt at their strongest either
    Austria gap 5s - after an extra pitstop so rather 25s gap
    Silverstone gap before SC 13s after 33/52 laps..

    The gap in qualifying got smaller yes but the tyre wear of Red Bull is still unmatched + great energy recovery

    @Meza994 Can always trust in you to bring a big dose of reality 😂

    Thanks for the data, makes a lot of sense.

    I have no hope now until 2026 😭

    @TotosHeadphones Nah you should have hope for it.. Might just be RB dont understand their upgrade yet but maybe its also not really effective and with the limitations they have this year the other teams might catch up till the end of the year - this year is done anyway but next year can still be exciting - unless Newey puts out another masterpiece😑
