UEFI is updated. Suggest loading setup defaults and saving if you have not done this since upgrading.

You should be able to set XMP and Secure Boot. fTPM should be enabled. HVCI can be enabled (in Windows, it will be enabled automatically on a clean install, switch it on in Device Security in Windows Defender).

Your CPU and GPU support Resize BAR

Download v5 chipset driver you already have the latest GRD (536.23). Download DDU then enable the safe mode switch.

Uninstall any v2, v3 or v4 driver from Add/Remove Programs.

Disconnect internet. Restart.

DDU Nvidia GRD in Safe mode, restart in normal mode.

Install v5 chipset driver then reinstall Nvidia GRD, rebooting as prompted.

Connect internet.

Delete the hardware_settings_config.xml from your %SystemDrive%\Documents\My Games\F1 23\hardware_settings

Verify Steam files and launch the game. Good luck!

I am having the same issue, I have tried running very low settings but still getting constant crashes. I have tried disabling full screen optimizations and running the program as admin. My firewall isn't blocking it. I have run out of ideas. Its a fairly new build so Bios is up to date and I used the ME Update tool so that should be the latest as well.

I have attached my DxDiag and my MB is an Asus Rog Strix-E Gaming Wifi Z790.

Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks

There is a new update UEFI 1202. Usual drill, load and save defaults and then restart, changing settings to enable Secure Boot, Virtualization, Resize BAR and HVCI (in Windows Security).

You can check the ME is updated (and secure) with the Intel CSME VDT. If it's not compliant, I would try to get you one (haven't built CSME 16 yet), just ask and I'll look into it.

You can check your Intel drivers are the latest with the Intel Driver and Support Assistant (IDSA)

There is no need to disable FSE or run as Admin so please just try deleting the hardware_settings_config.xml and verifying Steam files before launching. Run the higher settings you'd expect.

If you have crash dumps they would be useful also an EGO Dumper.

    Thanks.

So I have followed all the steps you suggested and deleted the config file, verified the files but it is still just crashing to desktop, no error report, no EGO dump. It is like the game was never running at all. It mainly happens when benchmarking in settings but has happened in menus and even on the loading intro.

I appreciate the advice but unfortunately it hasn't solved my issue.

I have attached an updated DxDiag as maybe there is something in there but I out of ideas.

Please remove the Thrustmaster Hotas and connect your wheel. WER shows an error in Fanatec app, but your dxdiag does not have the wheel connected. It's important to have the machine configured as if you are going to play.

Next step is to troubleshoot the audio and your utilities. Uninstall the AURA and Armoury Crate. RGB is often the cause of issues.

Also, please confirm you have no GPU or CPU OC. Try DDU your GPU driver in Safe mode and reinstall?

    Run HWiNFO and post the summary screen please, it should look like this;

Also, regarding audio can you read this thread and try the suggestion (IDK why it's not pinned here as well)

@SteveJackson The hotas was disconnected and my Fanatec wheel was connected (and is working perfectly with other titles, with no Fanatec app error) but when I went to post I had not run the dxdiag so I ran it then but had been playing another game with my Hotas hence why that was the case. I do make sure the setup is running with hotas removed and wheel running when I have been trying F1 2023.

The GPU driver was installed only 3 days ago using safe mode and DDU but I will do so again later incase there was some glitch. I have not overclocked GPU, CPU or memory, everything is as standard.

I don't have armory crate installed either yet but I do have Aura so will try unistalling that and see. I also do not have Sonic Studio installed so that's not the issue either.

I will when at my PC later try removing Aura and fresh GPU driver install using DDU then I will HWinfo screenshot if the crash continues and post here but it will be a fair bit later today.

Thanks for your help, I am seeing a lot of reports so I do wonder whether this is more of an issue with the game and certain hardware, it seems mainly latest hardware users that are reporting the issues. Very frustrating but hopefully a solution can be found.

Agreed. A lot of 13th Gen CPU or Nvidia 30/40 series but nothing concrete.

Mostly W10 but just saying! 😂

@SteveJackson Don't you just love PC issues 😂

Yep I hear you, I will do all the troubleshooting I can as it may uncover something, one quick question is I can upgrade for free to W11 or do you think its best to stay on W10 for now, at least while I troubleshoot so as not to introduce a new variable? Really appreciate your input here bud, thank you.

@SteveJackson So it appears I may have found the issue! I went through various ideas and used the in game benchmark set for 2 laps, wet at Monaco as a standard. I had been unable to pass more than one benchmark before a crash but I noticed the sound was going between 20-40 seconds before the CTD. I tried disabling all sound devices except the Samsung TV and also disabled the only Microphone input I had, since then I have run multiple benchmarks with no issue and just now a run with DLSS on and max graphics settings for 5 laps and it passed no issue.

I have to go out so cannot test further now but I will be enabling the sound devices 1 by 1 and benchmark to find the culprit when I get a chance. I will post back here if I can narrow it down. But for now at least it may help others to know to disable all sound devices except the one you need.

Thank you so much for helping me get through the mud 😂 hopefully no more issues and I'll update with anything extra I can find.

Personally, I'm on Windows 11, but I would clean install once you've upgraded and updated the digital licence.

@SteveJackson Hi bud, just a follow up. So I have played multiple hours over two game sessions now without issue. If I enable any sound device apart from the two tv's I use (one for my racing rig, one for my work desk) then the CTD happens. Maybe it'll be fixed in a patch/update so I will test again after the next patch/update and see if I can enable other sound devices but it isn't an issue for me. Thanks for all your help with troubleshooting.

Cutting all my sound devices down to just the two I was using resolved it for me.
