Re: F1 23 vs. F1 22 for pad

@DonBlanko Recently, I jumped back to F1 22 at Spa and I was shocked at how sluggish the controller was in fast corners on F1 22 compared to F1 23. As for traction, it's never been this easy to go full throttle out of any slow corners. Massive shout out to the devs and @ScarDuck14 for pushing this for us controller racers!

PS just raced there for the 1st time on F1 23 (25% multiplayer race). No complaints whatsoever. Last year, it was tricky to go out of T1, into T2 and T3. No more rear sliding into T7. Same goes for T12.

@Blackbird90 So you think, you the handling in F1 22 is sluggish und "heavy" in high speed corners instead of the F1 23 cars?

Good to see that F1 22 seems to be so much better for controller user.

Are there any other disadvantages to swap back to F1 22?

The opposite. F1 23 is next galaxy better than F1 22 ever was for controller.

Hmm now because of @Blackbird90  comment I am quiet unsure what I should do.

In F1 21 the balance between pad and wheel user was quiet good, when using TC full.

In F1 23 it is so much more difficult to handle for pad user. I really hope F1 22 could be a good solution, because we really want to make the next step to the actual cars.

@ScarDuck14 Yeah you are right. But we need coop season. It's just because of my friend who uses the pad.
And we want to drive with modern cars and rules, so F1 2022 or 23.
  • So to make it clear, is there a difference in traction between GP mode/MP mode and much loved by you guys, my team or career? I could test it, if so. Like, on what tracks are you limited by traction mostly?

@Blackbird90 Seems to be career modes. Not sure about GP. F1 world is fine.

I’m sure it’s Full TC not being calibrated as well as it should be.

It doesn’t happen on all tracks just low grip ones. Also if you do test it. Don’t drive like you normally would. Drive like most casual and younger players do with a heavy right trigger.

It’s all well and good saying to people you’ve got to be easy on the throttle. But that comes with time and experiences. I’m willing to bet most don’t own a driving licence as it is and probably because they are to young.

Lastly even I don’t have your finesse and I probably play more than you😁👍

I don't want to be nasty but whats the matter if @Blackbird90 tests some tracks in case of traction with full TC?

I mean, are you / is he from you CM?

What does it change? A lot of people, including my friend, are complaining about the very low traction with full TC when using the controller.

By the way: Does F1 22 has other handling problems, which F1 23 doesn't have? I often read people complained about spinning in that game. So in which situations?

And the most importent question: How are the breaks in F1 22? In F1 23 they remind me on F1 19, where we also had a very low break effect, especially on tracks like baku. in F1 23 they are horrible too. In F1 21 everything was fine, the breaks felt well. So how is it in F1 22? And how is the grip on those street circuits?

    A lot of questions I know... :D

@DonBlanko F1 22 is handling is far worse using a pad. But Full TC is extremely strong so there’s no issue out of slow corners. So if you use and need Full TC then F1 22 is more forgiving.

Blackbird is top 1% of controller players. He knows his way around the controller. I assume like me he will probably recreate the problem with TC. Then play around with controller settings to try and find a workaround that helps negate the issue.

He’s already dropped me a link off a content creator that’s good with a controller and I’ve just got home and had a try with his calibration settings and maxing steering rate seems to help.
