Hey mate!

If this is really by design (and I trust you on that), it's just really not good - I mean, look at what just happened to me, for example:

I wasn't even going to play ranked ,but decided to give it a try just to see how it works, last week.

I started as Bronze, as everyone else, I suppose - well ,at least that's where the game put me after my very first ranked race.

Then by the end of the week I got enough points to be promoted to SILVER.

So, today I got TWO emails telling me exactly that: I was promoted to Silver - and I was like.. cool!

But then, by clicking on my Super License, I realized I was still being listed as Bronze:

So I went to check the Ranked tab again and I was really still bronze..

The game then told me to complete at least one race, so I would be put on the standings table - so I did (and I actually won, by getting the Pole and FL - weeee) - and then after the race was over, this is what I saw:

I was put in a group where IF I can hold my position above that Bronze line for the next 6 days and 8 hours (lol) I would THEN be (finally?!) promoted to Silver (AGAIN?!)..

So anyway.. 

As I said, if this is by design, it's a pretty bad and frustrating one and doesn't even make much sense being promoted to stay in the same division (or even going backwards, as some people mentioned in the previous posts)..

I understand this might be a way to keep the drivers being challenged to stay/go back to whatever division they got - especially the guys at the very top (Elite), since they don't have anywhere else to go up, but still it's a bad design..

IMO, this is how it should work:

- This should happen only to the guys at the Elite division (they should go back one Division after staying there for more than a week, for example).

- This should NEVER happen especially to people who are already in the lowest possible level (who are Bronze and get promoted to Silver) - otherwise, you get promoted for nothing (you're Bronze, then gets promoted to Silver, just to stay in Bronze?!.. So, actually there was no promotion at all).

I also don't think this topic should be list as 'solved' - this IS still a problematic matter, especially if it's not a bug..

Anyway, just adding my two cents to the discussion.. - cheers!

    So it just sucks - lol

    It sucks even more for me, because I happen to level up exactly at the last week of the previous season, which means I didn't even had a chance to enjoy leveling up - I leveled up and immediately was put back where I was, so... I didn't actually move - also sucks because I didn't even get to enjoy the 'prizes' of getting 5% more XP in the Podium Pass, bla bla bla..

    Anyway.. it is what it is, but I still think this is a bad design - I don't care if it's always like this in every game that has a ranked mode - I myself just don't like this system - but once again: it is what it is (and it sucks for me - lol) - life goes on.. - cheers!

    @SexyBrigadeiro no one is saying that is a good design choice, or fair for the player to invest time and effort without any benefit. (I think we all agree that is not a good design choice).

    Is just not a bug, despite if we agree or not, it's indeed working as intended.

    I got that, mate.

    Then I decided to make a comment and share my opinion that I myself don't like this system.

    Sorry if that was 'out of context' of this topic somehow..

    What I meant by saying this topic should not be marked as solved is that the discussion about this system shouldn't be over - I believe most people here also dislike this system, so it's important that this is expressed and the devs get to know this and MAYBE consider a change if it's upsetting the majority of the players.

    If it's not the case and I'm wrong, then I apologize again - no biggy and no harm done.

    @SexyBrigadeiro I agree. Maybe is "out of context" with the title of the thread, but we all have the same feeling about it, that the current system demotivates the players for progressing and invest time in ranked, and we all are just expresing our opinions about it, and that's the important conversation to have.(i don't know or understand why it works that way, but, it is what it is)

    At least, this type of conversations open a path to express what the playerbase likes or not about the game (and hopefully) we all can work together to make the best game possible, and enjoy the game even more.

    (For example: Strict corner cutting is ready for ranked in an upcoming patch)
