Re: Reconnecting in a Multiplayer Race (F1 23)

I was leading an F1 multiplayer race when I disconnected (as is happening with alot of folks), so I had to reconnect and re-take control of my car and I'm back in the race. Sounds straightforward right? Well, typically there would be 5 red lights counting down after you take control and you'd be on your way, just like TT. But in this instance (and alot of other instances I have not recorded), the lights just don't appear and I'm unable to re-take control of my AI and if I try and quit and re-join to try again, it just retires my car and I've wasted my time racing 🙂

Fix this. It's frustrating.

It's annoying because people tend not to fix their connections and then blame the game. Personally, I felt it was a poor decision by Codemasters back in the day to allow reconnection at all.

Too many console players play on WiFi because it's the default option. Too many console players don't consider the effect of marginal or intermittent signal and interference.

Fix the signal issues with wires and the game is a lot more reliable. Homeplugs if you can't run a cable. Even "no distance" WiFi is a bad idea. Ex-console players also bring WiFi to PC and again, issues ensue.

I rarely disconnect, but the game will crash in multiplayer. Others will ghost or disconnect. That's frustrating.
