Lesson learn if you get upset for such silly reason don't buy games at release always wait for the first discount it will always happens in the first 3 months at most especially for games that come out every year
The next biggest new release is F1 23 from EA. It's a disappointing launch for the official racing game, with sales down almost 47% compared with what F1 22 managed over the same period.
Numbers for the 1st month, average players then peak player count:
F1 2021 - 9.9k and 24.3k
F1 22 - 8.2k and 23.8k
F1 23 - 5.5k and 13.3k
So player count for F1 23 is 33% down on average and 44% on peak player count compared to F1 22.
I take it these numbers are just for steam?
Just curious, as F1 22 and F1 23 are both sold on EA's own app, and on Epic Games also. I know for my side, since I need to have the EA app open in order to play F1 22 or F1 23, I bought them both via the EA app directly. I would have to assume my logged play hours never make an appearence on Steam statistic sites because of that.
The game being sold and played via differing store fronts would make it a lot harder to guage how many people are actually playing on PC at any given time.
I've not read every post but has anyone thought about the real life F1 seasons effecting the games interest too?
2021 was peak entertainment so people likely had more interest to play the games during and after that season. 2022 was quite a lack luster season so maybe that's added to the downward trend too.
