Great outlook on life. I tried the "balanced approach". Work hard, play hard. I've had a very fortunate life, especially my career path. Not many people get the opportunity to enjoy their career, that I never called it work. The most rewarding part of my job was getting to work with people from all over the world and I took every opportunity to learn their cultures.
Sadly, my life changed after experiencing 3 Traumatic Brain Injuries (TBI's) within four years. 2 were sports injury related and the other when I totaled my car into a wall. I learned the hard way not to drive a vehicle with a full leg cast, as I hit the accelerator instead of the brake.
Everything is good now, I was able to take an early retirement. My flying is now limited to MS Flight Simulator and racing is EA's F1 game. Both help me retain some cognitive and physical functionality. Many doctors and even therapists have commented how the admired my resilience to my health situation. They said most of their patients just give up.
Now you understand why I'm so passionate about gaming.
