Severe screen freezes in crossplay lobbies on console - MUCH worse than F1 22

Summarize your bug Severe and constant screen freezing of up to 1 second in crossplay multiplayer on PS5 - assuming it would be the same or worse for other consoles and previous gen. There were very minor screen freezes in crossplay on console in F1 22 that were tolerable, but this is MUCH worse. It seems like the same issue from 22 but just more severe and frequent, and it makes crossplay unplayable on console. The issue seems to be worse the more PC players are in the lobby. Multple drivers I have spoke to are experiencing this issue, so this is not unique to one driver or system, it is a fundamental game-breaking issue with crossplay.
What is your 16 digit Report Code? Not a unique issue - this is a fundamental problem with crossplay.
Can you please provide the name of your current internet service provider? TPG (irrelevant)
Which area is the bug/glitch in? Multiplayer
Did you have cross-play enabled? Yes
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Play in a crossplay multiplayer lobby on a console such as PS5 with other drivers in the loby racing on PC/Steam.

What do you expect to see? No screen freezes in online lobbies in a racing game.

Some screen freezing in F1 22 was tolerable, but in F1 23 at launch it's so severe it's bascially game-breaking and unplayable. This is similar to how bad F1 22 was when crossplay was first implemented and was unplayable before it was patched.

This is unacceptable from the developers to release the game in this state, and this issue requires immediate priority attention to fix once and for all.

Hi EA,
please fix this immediately as cross platform is unplayable. Being unable to play with friends through cross play has killed the buzz around the game for myself and others.

Hi EA, the crossplay experience on F1 23 is just unplayable. Please fix it asap.

Remove crossplay from the game. On Steam i want to play without it, but there are no lobbies without crossplay and I'm not playing this.

@JanKondler Crossplay on Steam and EA Play actually works really well, so you might have a seperate issue.

This problem specifically relates to the massive screen freezes that console players experience, particaulary on PlayStation, during crossplay sessions whcih at the moment makes it unplayable.

@EA_rephii Surely this is a huge issue with the game that needs to be looked at and addressed pretty quickly. Are you able to pass it onto the team to take a look?

Still poor connection, useless platform logo before the name and also that you are unable to change your in game name if you are on ps or xbox. I don't care about some random 5 lappers but propper online racing, so please give me option to change name for multiplayer ingame and remove these platform icon, or give us atleast option to remove it, also stupid AI icon in 2 player career mode.

@EA_rephii Thank you so much!!! I do love this game, best f1 game in a while. Sadly I cant enjoy it due to these lobby freezes.. and I really want to enjoy and play it. I thought it also give you my explanation to what we are experiencing with these freezes. Happens when someone joins/leaves the lobby. Cause force feedback to disappear for a quick sec which can easily make you spin during corners and can hurt your wrists! all other players in the also teleport a distance ahead, causing you to loose track time whenever someone leaves the lobby.

@Plevs I get the exact same issue and thought it was something on my end to start with, relatively glad other people are experiencing this too. i’ve noticed that it’s mainly when turning as someone leaves the lobby because when i’m on a straight it’s alot less common. not sure if it’s the same for everyone else

Omg i thought i was the only with this problem, this happen especially when someone leaves the lobby. This make the game imposible to play, please fix it🙏
