So by admitting the AI is too easy and the next patch...

They do intend to give the AI their balls back, right? They plan to admit that the Alex Gillions of the world were wrong and that we don't need to be coddled by overly-pessimistic AI right? Because the pace of the AI was fine, save for the typical being OP at certain circuits and the unlimited--dare I say "scripted" ERS deployment. The issue is and has always been that the AI don't fight for their position and that they're too easy to bully, to the point that simply giving them space isn't enough. I don't have to launch myself off into the nether reaches of the outside track boundary just to coerce the AI into executing an overtake or park on the apex to force them to fight on the outside, right? They're going to stop pitting for tires with less than 3 laps left and gifting me undeserved podiums even on max difficulty, right

On another note, did nobody tell the devs that the resource/acclaim/cash sliders were swapped and inverted? The wording used on "Reduced resources giving too many research points" doesn't sound at all like what is happening.

*sigh* When does this patch come out?

Money has a different bug it doesn't charge you the engine if you select it right at the set up of the career if you change it on day one works fine

And RD is not totally interpret if you use reduce but leave the ai on standard you get reduced RD only if you give AI increased it kind of mess it up and give you increases we don't really know what AI gets

@pekish79Usually I set all the options for both me and ai to Reduce to slow down progression, except for money I set ai to Increase so the smaller teams don't lagged behind on facilities upgrades.

So if this is the case, how should I set all the options to get the result I wanted?

If you do your own reduced money set it up the first day after you selected car and engine and interview set it to normal first so you actually pay the engine and start with only 250k

if you use reduced money your money is not enough to pay engine and pilot so it skip the engine so with reduced set at first possible time you start with 2.4-2.5m

For RD both on reduced is fine

@mariohomohFrom what i've seen everyone playing this year has had to up the difficulty to some degree, the average is up this year across the board for every track.

Holy smokes at the people in that article and some of you guys who are racing at 70-90 AI difficulty!!! WTF??? I haven't played this year's game, but I'm playing F1'2021 right now(half way through the career) and if I turn the AI up to anything past 60, I have ZERO chance at placing first! They'll pretty much smoke me.

Are the AI easier in '23 than in '21 or am I just SUUUUUPER slow lol???

The F1 2023 Game AI Difficulty Comparison doesn't make much sense. It's what it is for him and highlights the track he is good at, not necessarily AI's fault.

I use the same level for hungry-spain-abu dhabi-Mexico, and I arrive between 6-9 (with my nooby car in myteam with all the pilots having 100 stats due to a stupid bonus) in all of them. (And I play a fixed level of 79 for all tracks.)

I do admit on the same track, I end up making more mistakes than others. For instance, Spain is very easy, while Mexico is kind of tricky, so I can understand why he feels Mexico is harder, but I don't think the time is wrong; it is just the fact that getting the correct entry-exit curve is not so forgiving and you end up losing a lot of tiny fraction of second each curve if you make a slight mistake. (And there are a lot of curves, so ultimately, my lap has a bigger delta between a good lap and a bad lap.)

    What? How does it not?
If I set the difficulty to 100 on both F1 22 & 23 but on one of them i'm able to beat the AI by 1 second in qualifying or win every race starting p20.. how is that not difficulty related?
I feel like you're just taking a different stance every time at this point for the sake of being different and its super exhausting now.

The guy didn't ask about tracks or whatever he asked simply if its easier or more difficult.
Respectably no one cares about your lap deltas, the guy just wanted to know if its easier.
If people have/want to change the AI difficulty across the games to get more enjoyment out of it that's up to them, it doesn't matter if it makes sense to you.

just wish they fix the pilot bonus than they can increase difficulty as much as they want I will just lower my own I don’t have need to brag about my level if they rise it and end up playing lvl 40or 60 fine for me

I don’t know if anyone has noticed. But I think that the AI levels have been increased with this patch (V1.07)

I was playing with the AI at 102 in my team. The first couple of seasons I was on pace with my teammate, qualifying and finishing where my car should, sometimes out performing the car.

As soon as I get into season 3, everything changes. My car is still smack bang in the middle of the performance chart , keep in mind I’ve kept the same AI at 102, but now im qualifying and finishing right at the back.

as an example, I set a 1:26.4 at Jeddah, and the AI were setting high 1:24s!

Next race, at Australia. Best quali lap was a 1:16.9 and the AI set a 1:14.5

I’ve since had to reduce my AI to 95 and that’s just about balanced it out again
