What is going on? Is there a bug that only occurs on certain tracks? Or does every track have a different ruleset for tire usage?
Or was all f2 career bugged and now fixed? Or is it a bug that simply sometimes doesnt occur?
I found the tire rules for f2, 5 dry weather and 3 wet tires.
TYRE ALLOCATION
The sporting regulations state that each driver will be allocated five sets of dry-weather tyres per weekend. They will have three “prime” specification sets and two of the “option” specification. Each driver will also be provided with three sets of wet-weather tyres.
The game doesn't make that clear.
In silverstone I used 1 hard tire for practice, 1 soft tire for qualifying, (I used them very little, thinking I had to re use them, 5 laps on the hard tire in practice and 2 flying laps in qualifying on the soft tires), and then used 1 hard tire for the entire sprint race. So 3 tires used. And 2 tires left for feature race; hard and soft.
I don't remember why I had slightly worn tires in first few feature races of the full f2 career.
- IAGOBERNARDES112 years agoSeasoned HotshotYou only sprint with the hard tires if you put long or full sprint. the average race of 35% it uses the new soft tire for the Sprint and for the feature race we use the soft tire used in the qualy but no matter how much you save the soft tire of the Qualy it will always come more worn out than you he left. (Example if you do two laps in full Qualy in bahrem for example, it doesn't matter what track it is, if you left the soft tire of Qualy in 20% of wear in the Freature Race it appears with more damage)

What is really strange is that in your strategy window it shows 100% tire life on starting tires. but when you start the race it shows almost 50% tire degredation.
That is definitely bugged, according to the information you provided.
also a question. Did you perhaps use soft tires allot in practice? in that instance you shared.
- IAGOBERNARDES112 years agoSeasoned HotshotI play on the PS4 console and I know that I'm not the only one with this problem, I think this must be happening on other platforms too.
- IAGOBERNARDES112 years agoSeasoned Hotshot@ivun3 you say in training? in training we are obliged to use only one tire, which in this case is the hard tire, it is not possible to change it, I only used the hard one, in the average races of 35% the 5 sets of tires are 3 hard and 2 soft, one hard is used in training and then returned, in Qualy we are obliged to use only a soft tire and in Sprint we use the new soft tire, and the AI too. in Sprint we can choose the hard ones but then the other pilots go in softs and the bug happens with the AI in the feature race too

Ah now I understand.
You are left with 2 hard tires in the feature race, but it is mandatory to use 2 different compound tires. Hence maybe why you were forced to use the sprint tires, even tho they are used. And appearantly the game chooses sprint tire and not qualifying tire.
Were you not allowed to use 1 hard compound tire for the entire sprint? That way you have one hard and one soft tire left in the feature race, instead of 2 hard tires with mandatory need for another tire. As in feature race the mandatory pit stop also requires one to change to a different compound. 2 times hard or two times soft is not allowed in feature face. One hard and one soft. Or any two different tires that are available.

It is weird tho, that the game chooses sprint tires instead of qualifying tires. That would make more sense.

I had the same experience where the bug occurs to almost all ai players, except a few. Which means they are way quicker.
But if the bug occurs for all ai players too then I assume it doesn't affect race results. You can still win with two overused tires.

I think you didn't understand very well, but you're almost understanding. Look, there's my comment here with the photos, you can see that in the first photo I stop at Qualy (complete) with only one lap the tires were 9% I went to Sprint with the new soft tire as the game says, I can choose a tire hard to Sprint plus the AI goes from new soft to Sprint and only me from hard, finally I did the Sprint with a new soft tire it got 55% wear. I went to the feature race and the game chose the Qualy tire plus it with added damage of 41% as you can see in the fifth photo of the comment the right thing was to have 9% wear and you see in the last photo that I stopped still in feature race to put the used soft tire to see if it was the Sprint one and the Sprint tire as I put it as you can see in the last photo it has the same wear that ended the Sprint race that is the tire we used in the Sprint no gets added damage as the first strategy tire for the feature race
- IAGOBERNARDES112 years agoSeasoned Hotshot@ivun3 do you play medium or long races?
I play everything at full simulation and length, least assist.
Sprint has to use hardest tire one time, so that you have two full life tires of two different compounds at feature race.
But that is just what I think. I might be wrong.
- IAGOBERNARDES112 years agoSeasoned Hotshot@ivun3 it's just that I only tested it to see if the bug happened in medium and long races in the full races I haven't tested it yet I admire you for being able to play full races hehe, I think it's too long. so I think this tire wear bug only happens in medium and long races, because I've already tested it in short and very short races and the bug doesn't happen.

Hey there,
Just to give you an update, that our team will look into reproducing this and hopefully we have some more updates soon as we know that this is a frequent issue if you play the F2 career path or F2 races combined with Sprints.

I found that if you are playing F2 in 35% average races and you have the presentation lap on, the tires will come worn out is a bug, just remove the presentation lap they come with the wear you left in Qualy because in the feature race we used the Qualy tyre. now if you are playing long races 50% and complete 100% you have nothing to do, it's a bug that we can't put the hard tire (or medium depending on the weekend) and the game forces everyone to make 2 stops, use the new soft tyre, make the first stop, put the soft soft used in Qualy, and on the last lap put the only hard available in the feature race which is used in the Sprint, because in races 50% and 100% we use hard (or medium ) in the Sprint, the correct is just 1 stop, start with the new soft and stop to put the new hard, but as the new hard doesn't appear we have to put the used hard in the Sprint. unfortunately it is a bug that does not appear the hard (or medium) left.

Manually setting sprint strategy to 0 stop of the hardest compound, solved all the F2 career issues and bugs for me.
but thats for full length and simulation.

Hi
is there any chance that alternative strategies for the feature races can be added to the game please
- Meza9942 years agoSeasoned Ace@ojhowells22 Wouldnt get my hopes up, but a big list of suggestions including F2 improvements such as this has been passed on so maybe next year but definitely needed!
maybe even formula electric. haha. I can only dream about it. =D
Oh wait... Formula electric already exists in another racing simulator.
Still would be nice to dream about f3 f2 f1 and formula electric. All in one game x)
- IAGOBERNARDES112 years agoSeasoned Hotshot@Meza994 they should focus a little on lower categories like f3 but if not even f2 they can do well imagine f3, F2 full of bugs, in 50% races we are forced to make 2 stops because the new hard tire that is left over cannot be added in the strategy, the other bug, or better saying error is the wrong f2 calendar in the driver's career mode. a lot of focus on F1 and leaving F2 which is a delight to play halfway. I really wish there was an f3 also more without bugs hehehe

No matter how bugged f2 is, its still a good skill tester to do before heading into formula 1, so one can fine tune the ai difficulty level by the end of f2 career. I'm currently between 85 and 90 with the driving line enabled.
In F1 one cant tell if the car is bad or difficulty too high.
- IAGOBERNARDES112 years agoSeasoned Hotshot@ivun3 I really like playing F2 but these bugs are a little discouraging, if it weren't for these two bugs the one with the tire that doesn't appear and the wrong calendar F2 would be perfect

Hey there,
Our team has made different attempts with combined settings to reproduce this issue and they haven't been able to do so.
Take into account, that if you already damage your tyres during the sprint race, the damage will carry on to the next race and that is working by design.

Look, I made a complete video creating a career from scratch with 50% race to show you the error that the last tire does not appear in the feature race (in the video the game is all in Brazilian Portuguese because I am from Brazil) if you want to watch it are you there. I will explain correctly in the text below.
I'm already in the full Qualy, (I added training but it's not necessary to do it just for this explanation) I did the whole Qualy, two laps with the first soft tire. then I go full sprint race with zero stops with the standard hard tire strategy. I went to the Race feature. this is where the error happens, in the Race feature strategy you can see that he asks for two stops, start with the new soft tire and at the first stop put the used soft in Qualy and the second stop put the hard on the last lap, and this Hard is the one used in Sprint. (you can be sure seeing that already on the second lap of the feature race I put the tire on to check if it is the hard sprint and you can see that it is the sprint tire, due to the wear that is the same when we finish the sprint race ) and I'm left wondering where the last new hard tire is. why doesn't he show up. that is the problem. the right thing is to make a stop, for example use the new soft tire until the 7th lap and use the new hard tire that does not appear until the end of the race, just like in real life.
unfortunately here you can not post the video so the link
