the problem exists for a long time, the menu demands my CPU more than the actual driving. I always thought it was just my old CPU until I heard the same problems from others with new systems.
- dotazured3 years agoSeasoned Ace@zombie182 In my case this isn't much of a CPU issue, in my case it is using less than 20% CPU while in menu and around 25-30% while racing. (This detail is probably just hardware setup specific and dependent on CPU model)
But the underlying issue itself must be related to the way they are presenting the menus and layering/rendering 3D objects/environments in the background when not called for, as there's reason to believe that i.e the lounge/lobby from the F1 World sub menu is being rendered underneath when in other parts of the menu.
Similar to the behaviour of F1 22, where the main menu was layered and the 3D scene with the sofas and cars where rendered at all times, and opaque menus just placed on top of it.- dotazured3 years agoSeasoned Ace
This is still an issue as of patch 1.6.1006145/Steam build 11550771.

Not sure if it is related but I see a strange frame rate drop in the menus. When I first start the game the menu is a smooth 60FPS. Once I enter a race or dig into a feature the menu drops to like 30FPS and is noticeably sluggish and remains that the way the rest of game session.
