what is the point in f2

F2 IN THIS GAME is a waste of time an effort. i have tried a full season a short season iv changed the difficultness to get in to f1 iv even skipped all races causing me to finish last and when going to f1 i still get offered all contracts there is 0 point in this i would of thought if i dnf all races I'm not worthy of a f1 contract yet i can pick what ever team i want.. it don't matter if you win or come last your in f1 i wont be touching f2 again now knowing its all pointless

@jonnotheone Most people who want to play F2 dont play it for a chance to get into F1 but to experience F2 cars and races - which are far off the mark of real F2 sadly and basically not touched since 2019 except for the handling..

Many people dont enjoy being extremely limited by a game like what you want but as there are quite a few like you they should definitely bring in an option for "realistic contracts" so you have to perform well if you want anything but a backmarker seat. Wont fix the bad racing but thats a different story
  • @jonnotheone There was a point back then, until they completely abandoned the career modes in exchange for garbage like Life and World.
  • So they still haven't fixed it then. *sigh*

Someone from Codies said explicitly in the forums last year that F2 would be getting an overhaul this year and that where you finished, what contracts you'd be offered, etc, was going to be fixed / tweaked.

Glad I didn't waste my time in trying it to find out. Sorry to the OP who had their time wasted by trying it though. It's disappointing. I've been on at Codemasters since 2020 to get this fixed. It's one thing to experience F2 in a career mode, but it's also nice to have your efforts rewarded proportionately. Even says in the game "depending on where you finish", you'll be offered contracts, etc, etc. Looks like it just hasn't been touched. Shame.

  • What the hell are you even saying? F2 is very popular. There are often F2 lobbies online and many leagues offer a F2 division. Especially last game cycle around fall/winter it felt like more people doing F2 leagues than F1.

@Wollcott In respect of Online gameplay, this may be very true, however OP and other posters are referring to the career "progression" and racing in the single player portion of the game. Nobody doubts F2 is popular in racing leagues.

The only thing I’ve noticed so far is it affects ur acclaim. If u run f2 some teams bring u n w/ higher acclaim. Not all however. Just depends on the team. Alpine 4 example brings u n w/ a 4 acclaim if u do it & a 1 if u don’t.

  • I wonder the same. I've tried every year to give it an opportunity, but I always end up tired. All I find is:

    - Driver ratings lacks accuracy

    - The worst driver or one of the worst cars are every single year OP (HWA in 2020, DELEDDA in 2021, Cordeel and Sato in 2022)

    - No tyre strategies, no matter if you play at 25%, 50% or 100% race distance, every single driver does the same.

    - And they can't even get 22 liveries and some new faces ready for the original launch date.

I am begging for having F3 too in this game, but instead they prefer to create a game mode that won't be played more than once, 10 supercars that cannot race each other, sofas and clothes. What a joke and what a waste of time and resources.

@jonnotheone Agree! They should add F3 as well for a more immersive career mode. How exciting would it be to progress through the formulas. Wishful thinking though.... They can't even give us the current F2 cars at launch....

To those wishing for F3, yes it would be nice.. IF they made F2 and F3 well and implemented it well in the career but IF they should add it it would only be a huge DRS train (same tyres almost equal ratings just like F2, same cars) and that for a few races till you move on to F2 doing almost the same but with tyre changes midrace.. If they completely overhaul it yes definitely but not in the current state, better improve F1 than just add more boring DRS trains
