Ai difficulty

Is it just me or Ai difficulty on carrer mode is way to easy compared to other gamemodes such as grand prix mode?

  • I think there is an issue with the AI level for some tracks. (like every year)

The AI level is very random.

I'm on Sauber on 102 difficulty, I was qualified 2nd and I won the Spa grand prix (that is not possible when you have a Sauber )

So I switched to Zandvoort, and before increasing the difficulty I tried the Qualifying pace in FP1.

I was not abble to reach it.

So I kept the 102 difficulty for qualifying and race and I finished 13 th, 10 seconds behind Bottas (that is more realistic)

How can you explained  that I can win SPA GP (with the sauber that is the 6th car on the grid on performance tree) and suddenly on an other track the difficulty is well balanced?

+ AI vmax problem on miami , china, Spain, Zandvoort (they completely detroyed me on the striaghts on this track, while I was the 2nd fatest car on straights in qualifying)

@Juju_59320 Have to also take into account Ai tyre temps are always at optimal temps given them no loss off grip. Not sure if it’s still the case but a few years ago I saw a cars telemetry controlled by the Ai, when they brake or accelerate. They would use a series of micro inputs. Only noticeable when look at its telemetry. So they don’t lose traction in hard braking and acceleration zones.

Spa players have zero tyre temp issues and only accelerating out first hairpin and last chicane they get maximum benefit for from micro inputs. But human players are better at hard braking into tight corners, Hence we can extreme dive bomb.

On a track like Netherlands and Hungary it’s easy for surface temps to exceed optimal in corners. So we lose a few percent grip where the Ai don’t. Also due to all the mid speed corners it’s all to easy for us to scrub a little to much speed into them and then hold optimum speed through those corners. They is where the micro inputs are king. As Ai will make the required micro inputs so they always scrub just enough speed into the corner and then more to maintain their speed through and out:

Ai is just Ai it cant plan, judge, think or react. So the Devs have to help the Ai stay on track. If the ai cars didn’t have these assists: It would behave like current Gran Turismo (Not SophyAi). Slow and boring: and there just to be obstacles the players have to pass. Or worse. If Ai is left to it own devices and then be expected to race us and each They would hardly ever finish a race. How the Ai works is far from perfect but it has limitations like not being human But still widely acknowledged as best fully implemented Ai in a SimCade racing game.

I’m on 103 AI and I’m running ridiculously low wings. (18-16 at silverstone) and I qualified 3rd, only to end up 15th on race being overtaken by everyone. Every track during practice I am always last in the speed trap despite running unrealistically lower wings than normal for each track. I hope this will be addressed. We’ve just had a patch and it still isn’t any different
