any way to stop the game retiring drivers who DC in MP?
hello this has been an issue that started in F1 23 and is now in 24 in the league I race in if someone DC's the game sometimes retires the car without reason, it also happens if someone alt+F4s or quits [not retires] if they are desynced to try and rejoin/fix it
another issue we had last race was someone disconnected on the way to the grid and when he rejoined it would not let him take control of his car after race start like in past games and once again once he rejoined again it retired his car from the race (in hindsight we should have restarted the lobby after his DC on the grid but in past games it was fine to retake control of the car after turn 1)
just wondering if anyone else has had these issues and found a to stop the retirements in MP
P.S. not sure if I should post this in bug reports because I am not sure if its a bug or just a "silly" feature EA/codies have put in the games now...
- @Diaboles83 We’ve had a few drivers disconnect during league races, and they’ve managed to rejoin the session just fine….
If someone quits the game though, that’s a legit retirement. They chose to leave the session and it’s an absolute pain to leave an AI car on track whilst the race goes on.
If they’re just trying to resolve desync, maybe restart their router so it disconnects rather than quitting the game, then they can rejoin the session.
It’s just an unfortunate aspect of online racing that connection issues occur. Being able to hop in and out of races would cause more disruption
