@TheRagebeardDespite popular opinion. EA CMs don’t ban people or delete every dissenting post. They typically only take action if a player posts a thread encouraging others to rise up against EA. Or most commonly because people are abusive or use abusive language towards others no matter who.
I promise you I’ve posted many many very long rants about the unacceptable state of the game and gaming industry immoral practices to milk us dry. On here and for couple of years on Codemasters forums.
When we moved over here I had no clue what champions/hero’s were as I only came to these boards and as they were new no one had been promoted to one.
Then a few months in. one day I get a DM from EA Superuser program manager. Asking if I would be interested in joining because I’m very helpful and obviously awesome.
My reply was… Yes love to. However I often post criticism about the game and game industry and that also includes EA. If that is something I would be expected to stop doing. Thanks but no thanks.
The reply I got wasn’t what I expected and to be fair to EA and the community. I think they must have read everything I’ve ever posted. And was told that although I’d got alittle too emotional at times they viewed my criticism as constructive and part of the reason they wanted me to join up. As the saying goes something like. You learn more from criticism than you do from praise. As the the community managers. As I love the sound of my own voice and chat nonsense. I don’t miss any opportunity to chat to and get to know them on a personal level. I like making friends. And everyone that I’ve chatted to and that’s most of them. Are actually really good people and all proper proper gamers. So much so I do get defensive when someone posts having a go at them. They understand and share all our frustrations.
Also I promise you the English language F1 boards have 4 champions. And every one of us always says it exactly how we see it. We constantly raise problems we as a community encounter. However we can only talk direct to the community team and not Codemasters. But we have had some wins when it comes to improving how to improve things like bug reporting and @SteveJackson Is pushing for better by suggesting better ways of doing things. Whereas I’m shout and scream and stamp my feet (I’m a man child) all day about problems with gameplay. As for the CM for F1 boards @EA_Groguet he 100% makes sure codemasters hear what we have to say. Whether they act on it is entirely different matter.
Anyway tldr short. Don’t be post hateful things you wont get kicked 😂😇👍. And as I said to @mariohomoh earlier you obviously understand the art of critical thinking and your posts and replies are based sprinkled with personality.
if you don’t get in. Provided there’s spaces available when the beta starts I may be able to beg a friendly CM to ask Playtesting to add you. But obviously won’t know until beta starts. I did get a couple in last year. But a year is a long time
@ScarDuck14 Well based on the some of your criticism and comments aimed at EA I had already assumed that to be the case... however... I needed a sound a logical reason/ excuse to direct my wrath in your direction in the event I don't get selected for the Beta so coming up with some nonsense about not being able to blame the mods was a solid cover story.
As an aside, that was one heck of a novel you just wrote attempting to defend yourself, I was expecting some response like "Why me lol, what'd I do?" and instead I got the unabridged versions of War and Peace meets Les Misérables.
